Nuapada, July 10: A district-level review meeting on the implementation of various agriculture programmes and the progress of the Kharif-2026 season was held at the District Headquarters Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Nuapada Collector Madhusudan Dash. Reviewing the preparedness for the ongoing Kharif season, the Collector stressed that meeting the genuine needs of farmers is the Agriculture Department’s foremost responsibility. He directed officials to work with sensitivity and commitment to maintain farmers’ confidence in the government’s agricultural support system. Issuing a strong warning against fertiliser malpractice, the Collector stated that the district administration follows a zero-tolerance policy towards black marketing and irregularities in fertiliser distribution. He directed officials to register FIRs immediately and initiate criminal proceedings against anyone found involved in such illegal activities. He also instructed the department to ensure uninterrupted availability of urea and resolve any shortage promptly through effective inter-departmental coordination. Officials informed the meeting that the district has set a target of covering 1,59,970 hectares under crops during the current Kharif season. So far, cultivation has been completed on 13,157 hectares. Against the paddy cultivation target of 93,700 hectares, sowing has been completed on 9,149 hectares. The meeting reviewed fertiliser availability and was informed that against the seasonal requirement of 13,000 metric tonnes of urea, the district has already received 10,050.73 metric tonnes. In addition, 8,713.24 metric tonnes of various fertilisers are currently available in stock, which officials said is sufficient to meet farmers’ requirements. Farmer registration under the department’s database was also reviewed. Out of the target of 1,01,128 farmers, 47,190 farmers have been registered so far, achieving 46 per cent progress. The Collector directed officials to expedite the registration process to ensure that all eligible farmers are covered. The meeting also reviewed the implementation of several flagship agricultural programmes, including Natural Farming over 1,000 hectares, the Shree Anna Mission covering 3,810 hectares, the Chief Minister’s Maize Mission over 640 hectares, and the Cotton Production Enhancement Programme across 1,200 hectares. On the occasion, the Collector felicitated progressive farmers for their outstanding contribution to agriculture. The awardees included Ganesh Shabar (Nuapada Block), Mayadhar Pradhan (Komna Block), Pundarikaksha Kata (Khariar Block), Niranjan Majhi (Boden Block), and Ganeshram Majhi (Sinapali Block). Among those present were Barsha Azad, Assistant Agriculture Officer; Satyabhusan Nag, Block Agriculture Officer, Nuapada; Mohammed Murtuza, Block Agriculture Officer, Khariar; Soudamini Ray, Assistant Agriculture Officer, Tarbod; Dr. Ram Bikash Verma, Senior Scientist, ICRISAT, along with agriculture officers from various blocks of the district.

Collector Directs Effective Implementation of All Government Schemes Nuapada, July 10: A district-level review meeting on the progress of various horticulture schemes was held at the Conference Hall of the District Headquarters under the chairmanship of Nuapada Collector Madhusudan Dash. At the outset, Deputy Director of Horticulture Harekrushna Chand Hansda presented a detailed review of the department’s ongoing programmes, achievements, and targets. Addressing the meeting, the Collector emphasized that horticulture is a key driver for enhancing farmers’ income and directed officials to ensure the effective implementation of all government schemes so that the benefits reach genuine beneficiaries. He stressed the need to expand micro-irrigation systems such as drip and sprinkler irrigation for efficient water management. He also urged officials to promote the cultivation of fruits, vegetables, spices, and oil palm to improve agricultural productivity and farmers’ livelihoods. The meeting was informed that under the Per Drop More Crop scheme, against the target of covering 200 hectares under drip irrigation, work has been completed on 86.80 hectares. Similarly, against the target of 700 hectares under sprinkler irrigation, 212.30 hectares have been covered so far. Under the National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP), the district has set a target of bringing 150 hectares under new oil palm cultivation during the current year. So far, plantation has been completed over 3.66 hectares, officials informed. On the occasion, the Collector felicitated progressive farmers for their outstanding achievements in horticulture. Those honoured included Mahesh Kumar Suna (Khariar Block), Giridhari Rana (Boden Block), Rikesh Kumar Pradhan (Komna Block), Lalaram Sahu (Nuapada Block), and Bishram Herna (Sinapali Block). Nuapada, July 10 Nuapada district has once again brought laurels to Odisha by demonstrating excellence in the field of public healthcare. Owing to the dedicated efforts of its healthcare workforce, effective planning, and coordinated implementation, the district has secured first place in the state for its overall performance in the Family Planning Programme for the year 2025–26. In addition, Nuapada has achieved third place in Odisha for the acceptance and implementation of Post-Partum Intrauterine Contraceptive Device (PPIUCD) services, marking yet another milestone in maternal and family welfare. The awards were presented during the State-Level World Population Day 2026 celebration, held at Krushi Bhavan in Bhubaneswar by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Odisha. Sinapali, July 10 The fight against tuberculosis is not limited to medicines alone. Proper nutrition and social support play an equally vital role in helping patients recover and regain hope for a healthier life. Reinforcing this humanitarian message, a special programme was organised at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Sinapali, under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana, where nutrition kits were distributed to 60 tuberculosis patients out of 120 registered TB patients in the block. The programme was conducted under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) in collaboration with the R.K. HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre. The initiative brought smiles to the faces of many TB patients, highlighting the importance of nutritional support alongside medical treatment. The effort has been widely appreciated by local residents as a significant step towards improving the health and recovery of TB patients. The event was successfully conducted under the supervision of Dr. Sriman Sahu, Medical Officer In-Charge (MOIC), CHC Sinapali, and Mr. Prakash Patra, Senior Treatment Supervisor (STS), with active support from healthcare staff. Implemented under the guidance of Mr. Madhusudan Dash, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, Nuapada, and Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Chairman of the R.K. HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre, the project has been providing monthly nutrition kits for the past nine months to 800 TB patients across Nuapada district, along with nutritional support for three family members of each patient. The initiative is not merely a food assistance programme but also a compassionate effort to boost patients’ morale and strengthen their confidence in overcoming the disease. Representatives of the organising institution stated that adequate nutrition is essential for the successful treatment and recovery of tuberculosis patients. By extending nutritional support to both patients and their families, the programme aims to contribute meaningfully to the national mission of building a TB-Free India. The programme witnessed the presence of the project’s core team, including Mrs. Yogita Borkar, Project Head; Mr. Ani Bhushan Ray, Project Controller; and Mr. Satyajit Das, Project Manager, who played a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event. On the occasion, Collector Mr. Madhusudan Dash appreciated the initiative taken by MCL and the R.K. HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre. ଶ୍ରୀଗଙ୍ଗାନଗର :ରାଜସ୍ଥାନର ଶ୍ରୀଗଙ୍ଗାନଗର ଅଞ୍ଚଳରୁ ଏକ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସ୍ପର୍ଶକାତର ଏବଂ ହୃଦୟବିଦାରକ ଘଟଣା ସାମ୍ନାକୁ ଆସିଛି। ଜଣେ ୧୩ ବର୍ଷର ନାବାଳିକାକୁ ଅପହରଣ କରାଯାଇ ଦୀର୍ଘ ୫ ଦିନ ଧରି ବିଭିନ୍ନ ହୋଟେଲରେ ରଖି ଅମାନୁଷିକ ଭାବେ ଗଣଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମ କରାଯାଇଥିବା ଅଭିଯୋଗ ହୋଇଛି। ଏହି ନାରକୀୟ କାଣ୍ଡରେ ପ୍ରାୟ ୩୨ ଜଣ ସାମିଲ ଥିବା ପ୍ରାଥମିକ ସୂଚନାରୁ ଜଣାପଡ଼ିଛି। ​ସୂଚନା ଅନୁଯାୟୀ, ଗତ ଜୁନ୍ ୧୮ ତାରିଖ ଦିନ ନାବାଳିକା ଜଣକ ନିଜ ସାଙ୍ଗ ଘରୁ ଫେରୁଥିବା ସମୟରେ ଘରକୁ ଛାଡ଼ିଦେବା ବାହାନାରେ ଏକ ଅଟୋରେ ବସିଥିଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ଅଟୋ ଚାଳକ ଜଣକ ନାବାଳିକାକୁ ତାଙ୍କ ଘରେ ନଛାଡ଼ି ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଏକ ହୋଟେଲକୁ ନେଇ ଦୁର୍ବୃତ୍ତମାନଙ୍କ କବଳରେ ଛାଡ଼ି ଦେଇଥିଲା। ଏହାପରେ ପ୍ରାୟ ୫ ଦିନ କାଳ ପୀଡ଼ିତାଙ୍କୁ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ହୋଟେଲରେ ବନ୍ଧକ ରଖି ୩୦ରୁ ଅଧିକ ଅଭିଯୁକ୍ତ ବଳାତ୍କାର କରିଥିଲେ। ​ଝିଅ ନିଖୋଜ ହେବା ନେଇ ପିତାମାତାଙ୍କ ଅଭିଯୋଗ ପରେ ପୋଲିସ ତତ୍ପରତା ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିଥିଲା। ପରେ ଗୁରୁତର ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ନାବାଳିକାଙ୍କୁ ଏକ ହୋଟେଲରୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରାଯାଇ ଚିକିତ୍ସା ପାଇଁ ପଠାଯାଇଛି। ମାମଲାର ଗମ୍ଭୀରତା କୁ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ରଖି ପୋଲିସ ଏକ ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର ତଦନ୍ତକାରୀ ଦଳ (SIT) ଗଠନ କରିଛି। ଏପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଏହି ମାମଲାରେ ହୋଟେଲ ମାଲିକ ଓ ମ୍ୟାନେଜରଙ୍କ ସମେତ ୧୮ ଜଣ ଅଭିଯୁକ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଗିରଫ କରାଯାଇସାରିଛି। ଏଥିସହିତ ଅପରାଧ ଘଟିଥିବା ପ୍ରାୟ ୩ଟି ବେଆଇନ ହୋଟେଲ ଉପରେ ପ୍ରଶାସନ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ବୁଲଡୋଜର ଚଲାଯାଇ ସେଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଦିଆଯାଇଛି। ​ଏହି ସଂଗୀନ ମାମଲାକୁ ନେଇ ଜାତୀୟ ମହିଳା କମିଶନ (NCW) ମଧ୍ୟ କଡ଼ା ଆଭିମୁଖ୍ୟ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଛନ୍ତି। କମିଶନଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ଶ୍ରୀଗଙ୍ଗାନଗର ଜିଲ୍ଲା ମାଜିଷ୍ଟ୍ରେଟ୍ ଏବଂ ଆରକ୍ଷୀ ଅଧୀକ୍ଷକ (SP) ଙ୍କୁ ଆସନ୍ତା ୧୫ ଦିନ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏକ ବିସ୍ତୃତ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟାନୁଷ୍ଠାନ ରିପୋର୍ଟ (Action Taken Report) ଦାଖଲ କରିବାକୁ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି। ଏହା ସହିତ ଜିଲ୍ଲାରେ ଥିବା ସମସ୍ତ ବେଆଇନ ଓ ଅଣପଞ୍ଜୀକୃତ ହୋଟେଲଗୁଡ଼ିକ ବିରୋଧରେ କଡ଼ା କାର୍ଯ୍ୟାନୁଷ୍ଠାନ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବାକୁ କୁହାଯାଇଛି

ତାଳଚେର: ତାଳଚେରସ୍ଥିତ ମା' ହିଙ୍ଗୁଳା ମାଇନ୍ସ ପରିସରରେ ଅବସ୍ଥିତ କଳିଙ୍ଗ ଡିଏଭି ପବ୍ଲିକ ସ୍କୁଲର ୩୧ତମ ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠା ଦିବସ ଉତ୍ସାହ ଓ ଆଡ଼ମ୍ବର ସହ ପାଳିତ ହୋଇଯାଇଛି। ଏହି ଅବସରରେ ପଦ୍ମଶ୍ରୀ ସମ୍ମାନପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ଶ୍ରୀ ଅଦୈତ ଗଡ଼ନାୟକ ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଅତିଥି ଭାବେ ଯୋଗଦେଇ ଶିକ୍ଷା, ସଂସ୍କୃତି ଓ ମୂଲ୍ୟବୋଧର ବିକାଶ ଉପରେ ଆଲୋକପାତ କରିଥିଲେ। କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମରେ କଳିଙ୍ଗ ଡିଏଭିର ପ୍ରଧାନଶିକ୍ଷକ ପ୍ରଶାନ୍ତ କୁମାର ପଣ୍ଡା, ଜଗନ୍ନାଥ ଡିଏଭିର ପ୍ରଧାନଶିକ୍ଷୟିତ୍ରୀ ଶ୍ରୀମତୀ ସୁକୁଳା ଚକ୍ରବର୍ତ୍ତୀ, ହିଙ୍ଗୁଳା ମାଇନ୍ସର ମହାପ୍ରବନ୍ଧକ ସୁନିଲ କୁମାର ଜୋଶୀ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ଧର୍ମପତ୍ନୀ ଅସ୍ମିତା ଜୋଶୀଙ୍କ ସହ ବହୁ ବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ଅତିଥି, ଶିକ୍ଷକ-ଶିକ୍ଷୟିତ୍ରୀ, ଅଭିଭାବକ ଏବଂ ଛାତ୍ରଛାତ୍ରୀ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ରହିଥିଲେ।
