ଭଞ୍ଜନଗର,: ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ବିପର୍ଯ୍ୟସ୍ତ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସେବାର ଆଉ ଏକ ବିକଳ ଚିତ୍ର ସାମ୍ନାକୁ ଆସିଛି। ଜଣେ ଗୁରୁତର ରୋଗୀଙ୍କୁ ମେଡିକାଲ ନେବା ସମୟରେ ଅଧା ବାଟରେ, ତା’ ପୁଣି ଜଙ୍ଗଲ ରାସ୍ତାରେ ଅଚଳ ହୋଇପଡ଼ିଛି ୧୦୮ ଆମ୍ବୁଲାନ୍ସ। ଏଭଳି ଏକ ସମ୍ବେଦନଶୀଳ ଘଟଣା ମଙ୍ଗଳବାର ରାତିରେ ଭଞ୍ଜନଗର ଜଙ୍ଗଲ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ମିଳିଛି। ବୌଦ୍ଧ ଜିଲା ପୁରୁଣା କଟକ ଥାନା ଅନ୍ତର୍ଗତ ଦାମପଦର ଗ୍ରାମର ଚେର ମହାନନ୍ଦିଆ (୬୫) ଦୀର୍ଘ ଦିନ ହେବ ଶ୍ୱାସ ରୋଗରେ ପୀଡ଼ିତ ଥିଲେ ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କ ଛାତିରେ ପାଣି ଜମି ଯାଇଥିଲା। ଚିକିତ୍ସା ପାଇଁ ପରିବାର ଲୋକେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଫୁଲବାଣୀ ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଚିକିତ୍ସାଳୟରେ ଭର୍ତ୍ତି କରିଥିଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ମଙ୍ଗଳବାର ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟାରେ ତାଙ୍କ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟାବସ୍ଥା ଅଧିକ ଗୁରୁତର ହେବାରୁ ଡାକ୍ତର ତାଙ୍କୁ ବ୍ରହ୍ମପୁର ବଡ଼ ମେଡିକାଲକୁ ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତର (ରେଫର୍) କରିଥିଲେ। ଫୁଲବାଣୀ ମେଡିକାଲରୁ ରୋଗୀଙ୍କୁ ନେଇ ବ୍ରହ୍ମପୁର ଅଭିମୁଖେ ବାହାରିଥିବା ୧୦୮ ଆମ୍ବୁଲାନ୍ସଟି ରାଞ୍ଚି-ବିଜୟୱାଡା କରିଡ଼ରର ମୁଜାଗଡ଼-ଭଞ୍ଜନଗର ଘନ ଜଙ୍ଗଲ ରାସ୍ତାରେ ହଠାତ୍ ଅଚଳ ହୋଇପଡ଼ିଥିଲା। ନିଶାର୍ଦ୍ଧରେ ଜଙ୍ଗଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଗାଡ଼ି ଖରାପ ହେବା ଯୋଗୁ ରୋଗୀଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ ବିପଦରେ ପଡ଼ିଥିବା ବେଳେ ପରିବାର ଲୋକେ ଚିନ୍ତାରେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପଡ଼ିଥିଲେ। ଆମ୍ବୁଲାନ୍ସ ଚାଳକ କୌଣସି ମତେ ଗାଡ଼ିକୁ କୌଣସି ମତେ ଭଞ୍ଜନଗର ବନ ବିହାର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆଣିଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେଠାରେ ଗାଡ଼ିଟି ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ସ୍ଥାଣୁ ପାଲଟିଯାଇଥିଲା। ଏହାପରେ ଅଚଳ ଗାଡ଼ିର ଚାଳକ ତୁରନ୍ତ ଭଞ୍ଜନଗର ୧୦୮ ଆମ୍ବୁଲାନ୍ସ ସେବାର ସହଯୋଗ ଲୋଡ଼ିଥିଲେ। ଖବର ପାଇ ଭଞ୍ଜନଗର ଆମ୍ବୁଲାନ୍ସ ତୁରନ୍ତ ବନ ବିହାର ନିକଟରେ ପହଞ୍ଚି ଗୁରୁତର ରୋଗୀଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରି ବ୍ରହ୍ମପୁର ବଡ଼ ମେଡିକାଲ ଅଭିମୁଖେ ବାହାରିଥିଲା। ଶେଷ ଖବର ସୁଦ୍ଧା ରୋଗୀଙ୍କୁ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ ଭାବେ ବ୍ରହ୍ମପୁର ନିଆଯାଉଛି। ତେବେ ଜଣେ ଜୀବନ ମରଣ ସହ ସଂଗ୍ରାମ କରୁଥିବା ଗୁରୁତର ରୋଗୀଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତର ବେଳେ ଆମ୍ବୁଲାନ୍ସର ସ୍ଥିତି ଏଭଳି ରହିବା ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ବିଭାଗର ସ୍ୱଚ୍ଛତା ଉପରେ ପ୍ରଶ୍ନବାଚୀ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଛି। ସରକାର ଏହି ଦିଗ ପ୍ରତି ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ଦେଇ ଗାଡ଼ିଗୁଡ଼ିକର ନିୟମିତ ରକ୍ଷଣବେକ୍ଷଣ କରନ୍ତୁ ବୋଲି ସାଧାରଣରେ ଦୃଢ଼ ଦାବି ହେଉଛି।

ନିମ୍ବ ଗଛରେ ଝୁଲୁଛି କଲରାପତରିଆ ବାଘ ଶବ, ଫାଶରେ ପଡ଼ି ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ହୋଇଥିବା ସନ୍ଦେହ ନିମ୍ବ ଗଛରେ ଝୁଲୁଛି କଲରାପତରିଆ ବାଘର ମୃତଦେହ। ଗଞ୍ଜାମ କବିସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟନଗର ଜରଡ଼ ପାହାଡ଼ ନିକଟ ଏକ ଗଛରୁ କଲରାପତରିଆର ମୃତଦେହ ଉଦ୍ଧାର ହୋଇଛି। ଶିକାରୀ ଫାଶ ବସାଇଥିବା ବେଳେ ଫାଶରେ ଲାଗି ବାଘର ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ହୋଇଥିବା ସନ୍ଦେହ କରାଯାଉଛି। ଘଟଣାସ୍ଥଳରେ ବନ ବିଭାଗ ଟିମ୍ ପହଞ୍ଚି ତଦନ୍ତ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ଶବ ବ୍ୟବଚ୍ଛେଦ ପରେ ହତ୍ୟାର କାରଣ ଜଣାପଡ଼ିବ ବୋଲି କୁହାଯାଉଛି।

ସୋସିଆଲ ମିଡିଆରେ ବୁଲୁଛି ଜାଲ୍ ଚିଠି, ଶିଶୁ ବାଟିକା ଶିକ୍ଷକ ନିଯୁକ୍ତି ଖବରକୁ ମିଛ କହିଲେ ସରକାର । ସୋସିଆଲ ମିଡିଆରେ ଘୂରି ବୁଲୁଥିବା ଶିଶୁ ବାଟିକା ଶିକ୍ଷକ ନିଯୁକ୍ତି ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧୀୟ ଏକ ଚିଠି ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଜାଲ୍‌ ଏବଂ ମନଗଢ଼ା ବୋଲି ରାଜ୍ୟ ବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ ଓ ଗଣଶିକ୍ଷା ବିଭାଗ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟୀକରଣ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି ସୋସିଆଲ ମିଡିଆରେ ବୁଲୁଛି ଜାଲ୍ ଚିଠି, ଶିଶୁ ବାଟିକା ଶିକ୍ଷକ ନିଯୁକ୍ତି ଖବରକୁ ମିଛ କହିଲେ ସରକାର । ସୋସିଆଲ ମିଡିଆରେ ଘୂରି ବୁଲୁଥିବା ଶିଶୁ ବାଟିକା ଶିକ୍ଷକ ନିଯୁକ୍ତି ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧୀୟ ଏକ ଚିଠି ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଜାଲ୍‌ ଏବଂ ମନଗଢ଼ା ବୋଲି ରାଜ୍ୟ ବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ ଓ ଗଣଶିକ୍ଷା ବିଭାଗ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟୀକରଣ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି । ଅର୍ଥ ବିଭାଗ ନାମରେ ଜାରି ହୋଇଥିବା ଏହି ଚିଠି ସହ ସରକାରଙ୍କର କୌଣସି ସମ୍ପର୍କ ନାହିଁ । ଏହି ଜାଲ୍ ଚିଠିରେ ଦାବି କରାଯାଇଥିଲା ଯେ, ଓସେପା ଅଧୀନରେ ୭ ହଜାର ୨୩୪ ଟି ଶିଶୁ ବାଟିକା ଶିକ୍ଷକ ପଦବୀ ସୃଷ୍ଟି ଓ ନିଯୁକ୍ତି ପାଇଁ ସରକାରୀ ମଞ୍ଜୁରୀ ମିଳିଛି । ଏପରିକି ନିଯୁକ୍ତ ହେବାକୁ ଥିବା ପ୍ରତି ଶିକ୍ଷକଙ୍କୁ ମାସିକ ୨୬ହଜାର ଟଙ୍କା ଦରମା ପ୍ରଦାନ ପାଇଁ ଅର୍ଥ ବିଭାଗ ଅନୁମୋଦନ କରିଥିବା କଥା ମଧ୍ୟ ସେଥିରେ ଉଲ୍ଲେଖ ଥିଲା । ଅର୍ଥ ବିଭାଗ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଏପରି କୌଣସି ପ୍ରସ୍ତାବ ଅନୁମୋଦନ କରାଯାଇନାହିଁ ସରକାରୀ ରେକର୍ଡରେ ଏହି ପତ୍ରର କୌଣସି ଆଧାର ନାହିଁ । ପତ୍ରରେ ଥିବା ଦସ୍ତଖତ, ପତ୍ର ସଂଖ୍ୟା ଏବଂ ବିଷୟବସ୍ତୁ ସବୁ ଜାଲ୍‌ । ଜାଲ୍ ସରକାରୀ ପତ୍ର ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରି ପ୍ରଚାର କରିବା ଏକ ଗୁରୁତର ଅପରାଧ । ଏଣୁ ଏହି ଘଟଣାରେ ସମ୍ପୃକ୍ତ ଦୋଷୀଙ୍କ ବିରୋଧରେ ଉପଯୁକ୍ତ ଆଇନଗତ ପଦକ୍ଷେପ ଗ୍ରହଣ ପାଇଁ କର୍ତ୍ତୃପକ୍ଷଙ୍କୁ ଅବଗତ କରାଯାଇଥିବା ବିଭାଗ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟୀକରଣ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି ।

କଳାହାଣ୍ଡି ,କୋକସରା ବନ ମହୋତ୍ସବ ସପ୍ତାହ ପାଳନ ଅବସରରେ ଆର ସି ଡ଼ି ସି ଅନୁଷ୍ଠାନ ଏବଂ ଭଗତ ସିଂହ ଯୁବକ ସଂଘ ନୁନପାଣି ପକ୍ଷରୁ ବନ ମହୋତ୍ସବ ସପ୍ତାହ ପାଳନ ଅବସରରେ ବୃକ୍ଷ ରୋପଣ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠିତ ହୋଇ ଯାଇଛି। ଏହି ବୃକ୍ଷ ରୋପଣ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମରେ ଉକ୍ତ ଯୁବ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠାନର ସଭାପତି ପୁରୁଷୋତ୍ତମ ନାଗ,ଉପ ସଭାପତି ମୃତ୍ୟୁଞ୍ଜୟ ନାଗ,ସମ୍ପାଦକ ଶଙ୍ଖା ନାଗ,ସହ ସମ୍ପାଦକ କୁନ୍ତୀ ଗୋପାଳ,କୋଷାଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ କାମେଶ୍ଵର ବାଗ, ସମାଜସେବୀ ଭୋଜରାଜ ନାଗ ସହ ସଦସ୍ୟ ମମିତା ବାଗ, ବଶିଷ୍ଠ ନାଗ,ପ୍ରତିମା ବାଗ, ତୋଫାନ ନାଗ,ସବିତା ବାଗ, କଲ୍ୟାଣୀ ନାଏକ,ସମୀର ପୁଝାରୀ, ଜ୍ୟୋତି ରଞ୍ଜନ ନାଏକ, ବିନୀତା ସୁନାମୀ, ଶ୍ରୀକୁମାର, ରୁବୀ, ଟିକଚନ, ମଞ୍ଜୁରୀ,ଭୁମୀ, ମନୀଷ, ରାନୀ, ସଞ୍ଜୁ, କାଜଲ, ତପସ୍ଵିନୀ, ଲିଜା, କୁଳ,ତାରଜନ,ଭାବି ସମେତ ଗାଁ ର ପ୍ରାୟ ୫୦ ରୁ ଅଧିକ ଯୁବକ ଯୁବତୀ ସାମିଲ୍ ହୋଇ ନିଜ ନିଜ ବାଡ଼ି ବଗିଚାରେ ବୃକ୍ଷ ରୋପଣ କରିଥିଲେ।

ତାଳଚେର: ୭୭ତମ ବନ ମହୋତ୍ସବ ସପ୍ତାହ ପାଳନ ଅବସରରେ ତାଳଚେର ବ୍ଲକ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଗତ କଳମଛୁଇଁ ଗ୍ରାମ ପଞ୍ଚାୟତସ୍ଥିତ ପବିତ୍ର ସୋଲଡ଼ା ମା' ଶୁରୁଙ୍ଗୀ ପୀଠ ଏବଂ ଶୁରୁଙ୍ଗୀ ଗୁରୁକୁଳ ଆଶ୍ରମ ପରିସରରେ ଏକ ଦିବସୀୟ ବୃକ୍ଷରୋପଣ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମ ଉତ୍ସାହର ସହ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠିତ ହୋଇଛି। ଏହି ସବୁଜ ଅଭିଯାନରେ ତାଳଚେର ବିଧାୟକ ବ୍ରଜ କିଶୋର ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯୋଗଦେଇ ବୃକ୍ଷରୋପଣ କରିବା ସହ ପରିବେଶ ସୁରକ୍ଷା ଓ ସବୁଜିମାର ପ୍ରସାର ପାଇଁ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଅଧିକରୁ ଅଧିକ ଗଛ ଲଗାଇବାକୁ ଆହ୍ୱାନ ଜଣାଇଥିଲେ। ବିଧାୟକ ଶ୍ରୀ ପ୍ରଧାନ କହିଥିଲେ ଯେ, ପରିବେଶର ସନ୍ତୁଳନ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇଁ ବୃକ୍ଷରୋପଣ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଜରୁରୀ। ଆଜିର ଏକ ଛୋଟ ପ୍ରୟାସ ଆଗାମୀ ପିଢ଼ି ପାଇଁ ସୁସ୍ଥ, ସବୁଜ ଓ ସୁନ୍ଦର ପରିବେଶ ସୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ସହାୟକ ହେବ। ସେ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଗଛ ଲଗାଇବା ସହ ତାହାର ଯତ୍ନ ନେବାକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଅନୁରୋଧ କରିଥିଲେ। ଏହି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମରେ ଅନୁଗୋଳ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ପରିଷଦ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷା ବବିତା ପ୍ରଧାନ, ତାଳଚେର ବ୍ଲକ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷା ହେମଲତା ମହାନ୍ତି, କଣିହାଁ ବ୍ଲକ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ରାମକୃଷ୍ଣ ପ୍ରଧାନ, କଣିହାଁ ବ୍ଲକ ଉପାଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷା ଜୟନ୍ତୀ ପ୍ରଧାନ, ୦୯ ନମ୍ବର ଜୋନ୍ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ପରିଷଦ ସଭ୍ୟ ରଞ୍ଜନ ସାହୁ, ତାଳଚେର ଉପ-ଜିଲ୍ଲାପାଳ, ତାଳଚେର ନିର୍ବାଚନ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀର ବିଭିନ୍ନ ପଞ୍ଚାୟତର ସରପଞ୍ଚ, ସମିତିସଭ୍ୟ ଏବଂ ତାଳଚେର ପୌରପରିଷଦର କାଉନସିଲରମାନେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ରହିଥିଲେ।

ବଅଁରପାଳ: ବଅଁରପାଳସ୍ଥିତ ବିଚାର ବିଭାଗୀୟ ଅଦାଲତର ତାଲୁକ ଆଇନ ସେବା କମିଟି ପକ୍ଷରୁ ୭୭ତମ ବନ ମହୋତ୍ସବ ସପ୍ତାହ ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ପାଞ୍ଚଗଡ଼ ବିଜୟ କୁମାର ଉଚ୍ଚ ବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ ପ୍ରାଙ୍ଗଣରେ ପାଳନ କରାଯାଇଛି। କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମକୁ ବିଚାରପତି ମାନନୀୟା ସାବିତ୍ରୀ ଦାସ ପ୍ରଥମେ ଏକ ଚାରାରୋପଣ କରି ଉଦ୍ଘାଟନ କରିଥିଲେ। ପରେ ଅଦାଲତର ଆଇନଜୀବୀ, କୋର୍ଟ କର୍ମଚାରୀ, ବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟର ଶିକ୍ଷକ-ଶିକ୍ଷୟିତ୍ରୀ ଏବଂ ଛାତ୍ରଛାତ୍ରୀମାନେ ମିଳିତ ଭାବେ ଫଳ ଓ ଔଷଧୀୟ ପ୍ରଜାତିର ୫୦ରୁ ଅଧିକ ଚାରା ରୋପଣ କରିଥିଲେ। ଏହି ଅବସରରେ ବିଚାରପତି ସାବିତ୍ରୀ ଦାସ ଗଛରୋପଣର ଆବଶ୍ୟକତା ଓ ଏହାର ସାମାଜିକ ଏବଂ ପରିବେଶଗତ ଉପକାରିତା ସମ୍ପର୍କରେ ଛାତ୍ରଛାତ୍ରୀଙ୍କୁ ସଚେତନ କରିଥିଲେ। ସେ ପରିବେଶ ପ୍ରଦୂଷଣ ରୋକିବା, ସବୁଜ ବିପ୍ଳବକୁ ସଫଳ କରିବା ଏବଂ "ମା'ଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଗଛଟିଏ" ସ୍ଲୋଗାନର ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱ ଉପରେ ଆଲୋକପାତ କରି ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଅଧିକରୁ ଅଧିକ ଗଛ ଲଗାଇବା ଓ ତାହାର ଯତ୍ନ ନେବାକୁ ଆହ୍ୱାନ ଜଣାଇଥିଲେ।

ଜୁନାଗଡ଼ - ଭଇଁରିଗୁଡ଼ା ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ର ମଣ୍ଡି ରେ ଧାନ କ୍ରୟ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ପଦ୍ମାଳୟା ସ୍ଵଂସହ।ୟକ୍ ଗୋଷ୍ଠି ଙ୍କୁ ନିୟୋଜିତ କରାଯାଇ ଅଛି।କିନ୍ତୁ ଗୋଷ୍ଠି ନାମକୁ ମାତ୍ର ଥିବା ସ୍ଥଳେ ମିଲର୍ସ ମାନେ ହିଁ ପରିଚାଳନା କରି ଚାଷୀଙ୍କୁ ହଇରାଣ ଓ ଶୋଷଣ କରୁଛନ୍ତି। ଠିକ୍ହ ସମୟରେ ଧାନ ମଣ୍ଡି ରୁ ଧାନ କ୍ରୟ ନକରିବାରୁ ହଜାର ହଜାର ବସ୍ତା ଧାନ ନଷ୍ଟ ହେବାରେ ପ୍ରମୁଖ ଭୂମିକା ଗ୍ରହଣ କରୁଛନ୍ତି। ଚାଷୀ ଶୋଷଣର ଶିକାର ହେଉଛି। ଏଣୁ ପଦ୍ମାଳୟା ଗୋଷ୍ଠି କୁ ଧାନ କ୍ରୟ କରିବା ସୀକୃତି କୁ ବାତିଲ କରି ଚାଷୀଙ୍କ ସ୍ୱାର୍ଥ ପାଇଁ ଆଟି ଗାଁ PACS ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଧାନ କ୍ରୟ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ପ୍ରଶାସନ ଙ୍କୁ ଦାବୀ ପତ୍ର ପ୍ରଦାନ କରାଯାଇଛି।ଉଚିତ ତଦନ୍ତ କରି ଚାଷୀକୁ ତାଙ୍କର ହକ୍ ଦେବାକୁ ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଅଭିଯୋଗ ପ୍ରକୋଷ୍ଠ ରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଅନୁରୋଧ କରାଯାଇଥିବା ଭଇଁରିଗୁଡ଼ା ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ କୃଷକ ସଭାପତି ଦେବରାଜ ବାଣୁଆ ସୂଚନା ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିଛନ୍ତି ଓ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ସରକାର ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ଦେବେ ବୋଲି ଆଶା ରଖିଛନ୍ତି।

Sinapali, July 7 With a vision to strengthen the bond between humans and nature and to build a greener future for the coming generations, the 77th Van Mahotsav–2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm, public participation, and environmental commitment at Ramgarh Gandabahali under the Sinapali Forest Range. The programme was organized by the Khariar Forest Division under the aegis of the Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Government of Odisha, inspiring people to take collective responsibility for protecting nature. Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, ACF Prashnajit Nayak emphasized that trees are not only essential for maintaining ecological balance but also form the very foundation of human existence. He urged every citizen to plant at least one tree and nurture it with care, stating that such collective efforts would ensure a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future. The keynote speaker, Bhagaban Chalan, Headmaster of Gandabahali Shishu Vidyamandir, highlighted the growing challenges posed by climate change. He remarked that tree plantation alone is not enough; every sapling must be protected and nurtured like a family member. Nuapada, July 7 The Khariar unit of the Congress party on Monday submitted a detailed memorandum to the Nuapada District Collector, highlighting three major public issues affecting the Khariar region. The memorandum demands a high-level inquiry into the collapse of the boundary wall of the new Khariar Bus Stand before its inauguration, a fair investigation into the Birighat maternal death case with action against those found responsible, and the relocation of the proposed foreign liquor shop near Ambedkar Chowk. Congress leader Kamal Charan Tandi stated that the collapse of the boundary wall of the newly constructed Khariar Bus Stand, even before its inauguration, has raised serious concerns over the quality of construction. He alleged that if defects are appearing in a project worth crores of rupees at such an early stage, it indicates possible irregularities and misuse of public funds. The party has demanded a technical inquiry into the incident and strict action against the contractor and officials responsible if negligence or irregularities are found. The memorandum also highlights the Birighat maternal death case, demanding an impartial investigation to uncover the truth. The Congress party urged the administration to identify any medical negligence or procedural lapses and take stringent action against those responsible. Sinapali, July 7: The long-standing problem of stray cattle has now turned into a serious civic issue in Sinapali town. From Jugenpadar to Kapsi, stray cows and bulls occupy roadsides, shopfronts, and major streets throughout the night. As a result, every morning the area is littered with cow dung, urine, and waste, creating an unhygienic environment, foul smell, and inconvenience for commuters and local residents. During the night, dozens of cows and bulls rest in front of closed shops, leaving behind large heaps of dung and urine on roads and commercial premises. Such scenes not only raise serious concerns over the town’s sanitation but also tarnish the image and cleanliness of the marketplace. According to local shopkeepers, every morning they are forced to clean cow dung and filth before opening their businesses. This results in unnecessary expenditure of time, labour, and money. The unpleasant odour also discourages customers from visiting shops. During the monsoon season, the mixture of cow dung and rainwater makes the roads extremely slippery, increasing the risk of pedestrians slipping and getting injured. The problem extends beyond poor sanitation. Stray cattle frequently lie on roads during both day and night, leading to several minor and major road accidents. Motorists, especially at night, often fail to notice the animals in time, resulting in collisions. With reduced visibility during the rainy season, the danger has become even more severe. Residents allege that many cattle owners take their cows home only for milking and later release them onto public roads, making the problem worse with each passing day. They also pointed out that allowing cattle to remain outside in the open during the monsoon is harmful not only to the public but also to the animals themselves. Despite repeated media reports and public complaints over the years, locals say that no effective action has been taken by the authorities. Citizens have demanded that the administration identify owners who abandon their cattle on public roads and take strict action against them. They have also urged the authorities to establish a permanent cow shelter (cattle shelter) in the town and launch regular drives to remove stray cattle from public roads. Keeping in view public hygiene, road safety, and public health, residents have appealed to the administration and the Animal Husbandry Department to intervene immediately and implement a permanent solution to this growing problem. They believe timely action will help restore cleanliness, prevent accidents, and improve the quality of life in Sinapali town.

Boden, July 7: Following continuous rainfall, the condition of the vital road connecting Patelpada in Karlakot to Bandhapada in Dargaon under Boden Block has deteriorated drastically. The road has turned into a muddy stretch, making transportation almost impossible. Even a brief spell of rain transforms the road into a paddy field-like condition, causing immense hardship to local residents. The entire surface of the road is covered with thick mud, with deep tyre ruts and uneven patches making movement extremely risky. There is a constant danger of pedestrians slipping while walking, leaving elderly people, women, and schoolchildren the worst affected. Not only motorcycles, but even four-wheelers find it difficult and unsafe to pass through the road. This road serves as an important link for hundreds of tourists visiting the Tikhali tourist destination every day. It is also frequently used by school students, farmers, traders, and local residents. Moreover, the road connects NH-353 with the Biju Expressway, making it a strategically important route. The presence of the Karlakot Bank along this road further increases daily traffic, as customers regularly use this route for banking services. According to local residents, the problem recurs every monsoon due to the lack of permanent road repairs. They alleged that the road has been neglected for years, and its condition continues to worsen. People also expressed concern that emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire tenders would find it extremely difficult to reach the area during emergencies. Demanding immediate intervention, the villagers have urged the district administration and the concerned department to undertake urgent repair and permanent construction of the road. They believe that timely action would not only ease the suffering of the public during the rainy season but also prevent accidents and ensure safe connectivity for residents, students, commuters, and visitors alike.

Nuapada, July 7: A district-level review meeting on various social security schemes implemented under the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Nuapada Collector Madhusudan Dash at the District Collectorate Conference Hall. Welcoming the participants, District Social Security Officer Ananta Kumar Hembram outlined the objectives of the meeting and presented the progress of various welfare schemes being implemented across the district. The review revealed that the department had surveyed 747 migrant families, out of which 131 families were found eligible for different government welfare schemes. So far, 34 families have already received benefits under various programmes. During the current financial year, financial assistance of ₹20,000 each has been sanctioned to 201 beneficiaries under the National Family Benefit Scheme, while 31 applications are currently under consideration. Under the ‘Sweekruti’ Scheme, 104 transgender persons have been identified in the district, of whom 35 are receiving social security pensions. Similarly, under the Widow Assistance Campaign, 18,869 widows have been identified, with 18,583 currently receiving widow pensions. Under the Disability Assistance Campaign, the district has 8,948 pension beneficiaries with disabilities, while 7,117 of them possess ration cards. During the meeting, Collector Madhusudan Dash directed officials to give special emphasis to skill development and vocational training for persons with disabilities and members of the transgender community to help them become self-reliant. He also instructed the concerned departments to ensure that no eligible person with disabilities is deprived of benefits under the Food Security Scheme. The Collector issued a stern warning that strict action would be taken against responsible officials if pension payments continue in the names of deceased beneficiaries, emphasizing the need for regular verification and transparency in beneficiary records. On the occasion, Swapna Barman of Khariar Road was honoured with the ‘Divyang Mitra Award’ in recognition of her contribution towards the welfare of persons with disabilities. The meeting was attended by Sub-Collector Surmi Soren, Chief District Medical and Public Health Officer Dr. Dwarikanath Satpathy, Lead District Manager Harishankar Nial, Sub-Divisional Social Security Officer Smrutirekha Nanda, and senior officials from various government departments.
