ଢେଙ୍କାନାଳ, ୮ା୭: ଢେଙ୍କାନାଳ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ପରିବହନ ବିଭାଗ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ଜିଲ୍ଲାର ବିଭିନ୍ନ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଯାନବାହନର କଡ଼ା ଯାଞ୍ଚ ଅଭିଯାନ ଜାରି ରହିଛି। ଗତ ୫ ତାରିଖଠାରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇଥିବା ଏହି ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର ଯାଞ୍ଚରେ ବସ୍‌, ଟ୍ରକ୍‌ ସମେତ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ବାଣିଜ୍ୟିକ ଯାନବାହନର କାଗଜପତ୍ର ଓ ଫିଟ୍‌ନେସ୍‌ ଯାଞ୍ଚ କରାଯାଉଛି। ଦୁଇ ଦିନରେ ମୋଟ ୮୧ଟି ଗାଡ଼ିରୁ ୭ ଲକ୍ଷ ୮୦ ହଜାର ୫୯୯ ଟଙ୍କା ଜରିମାନା ଆଦାୟ କରାଯାଇଥିବାବେଳେ ୧୧ଟି ଗାଡ଼ିକୁ ଜବତ କରାଯାଇଛି। ଜବତ ହୋଇଥିବା ଗାଡ଼ି ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଫିଟ୍‌ନେସ୍‌ ସାର୍ଟିଫିକେଟ୍‌ ନଥିବା ଏକ ସ୍କୁଲ ବସ୍‌ ମଧ୍ୟ ରହିଛି। ଉକ୍ତ ବସ୍‌ ଉପରେ ପ୍ରାୟ ୩୦ ହଜାର ଟଙ୍କା ଜରିମାନା ଲାଗୁ କରାଯିବା ସହ ଏହାକୁ ଜବତ କରାଯାଇଛି। ଯାଞ୍ଚ ସମୟରେ ବିଶେଷକରି ପଲ୍ୟୁସନ୍‌ ସାର୍ଟିଫିକେଟ୍‌, ଫିଟ୍‌ନେସ୍‌ ଏବଂ ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ କାଗଜପତ୍ର ଉପରେ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱ ଦିଆଯାଉଛି। ନିୟମ ଉଲ୍ଲଂଘନ କରୁଥିବା ଯାନବାହନ ବିରୋଧରେ ମୋଟରଯାନ ଆଇନ ଅନୁଯାୟୀ ଜରିମାନା ଆଦାୟ କରାଯାଉଛି। ସଡ଼କ ଦୁର୍ଘଟଣା ହ୍ରାସ କରିବା ଏବଂ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ ଯାତାୟାତ ସୁନିଶ୍ଚିତ କରିବା ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ଏହି ଅଭିଯାନ ଚାଲିଥିବାବେଳେ ଆଗାମୀ ଦିନରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହା ନିୟମିତ ଭାବେ ଜାରି ରହିବ ବୋଲି ଢେଙ୍କାନାଳ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ପରିବହନ ଅଧିକାରୀ ଶୁଭାଶିଷ ସାହୁ ସୂଚନା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି। ଅପରପକ୍ଷେ ସରକାର ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଉପାୟରେ କେବଳ ଅର୍ଥ ଆଦାୟ କରୁଥିବା ବେଳେ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଭଲ ରାସ୍ତା ଖଣ୍ଡେ କରିପାରୁ ନାହାନ୍ତି । ଲଗାଣ ବର୍ଷାରେ ଏନ୍ ଏଚ ୫୫ ରେ ଯେଉଁ ନଦୀର ଭ୍ରମ ସୃଷ୍ଟି ହେଲା ଆଉ ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ସ୍ଥାନର ଅବସ୍ଥା ଯାହା ସେଥିପ୍ରତି ତୁରନ୍ତ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ଦେଇ ସମାଧାନ କରିବାକୁ ବୁଦ୍ଧିଜୀବୀ ମହଲରେ ଦାବି ହେଉଛି ।

ବରଗଡ଼: ବରଗଡ଼ ସହରର ଗାନ୍ଧୀ ଛକରେ ଗୁରୁବାର ଘଟିଥିବା ଏକ ଦୁଃଖଦ ସଡ଼କ ଦୁର୍ଘଟଣାରେ ଜଣେ ୧୪ ବର୍ଷୀୟ ସ୍କୁଲ ଛାତ୍ରଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଘଟିଛି। ସୂଚନା ଅନୁଯାୟୀ, ଛାତ୍ରଜଣକ ସ୍କୁଲକୁ ଯାଉଥିବା ବେଳେ ଏକ ଯାତ୍ରୀବାହୀ ବସ୍ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଧକ୍କା ଦେଇଥିଲା। ଏଥିରେ ସେ ଗୁରୁତର ଆହତ ହୋଇଥିଲେ। ପରେ ଘଟଣାସ୍ଥଳରେ କିମ୍ବା ଚିକିତ୍ସାଧୀନ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ତାଙ୍କର ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଘଟିଥିବା ସୂଚନା ମିଳିଛି। ଘଟଣା ପରେ ପୁଲିସ ଦୁର୍ଘଟଣାଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ବସକୁ ଜବତ କରିବା ସହ ଘଟଣାର ତଦନ୍ତ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିଛି। ଦୁର୍ଘଟଣାର ପ୍ରକୃତ କାରଣ ଜାଣିବା ପାଇଁ ପୁଲିସ ଅଧିକ ତଦନ୍ତ ଚଳାଇଛି। ଏହି ଘଟଣା ପରେ ବରଗଡ଼ ସହରରେ ଟ୍ରାଫିକ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାକୁ ନେଇ ପୁଣିଥରେ ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ ଉଠିଛି। ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ସ୍କୁଲ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ରାସ୍ତା ସୁରକ୍ଷା ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାକୁ ସୁଦୃଢ଼ କରିବା ସହ ଟ୍ରାଫିକ ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣକୁ ଅଧିକ କଡ଼ାକଡ଼ି କରିବାକୁ ଦାବି କରିଛନ୍ତି।

ଗଞ୍ଜାମ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଚିକିଟି ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ସମିତି ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ପଦ ପୂରଣ ପାଇଁ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠିତ ହେବାକୁ ଥିବା ନିର୍ବାଚନ ଉପରେ ହାଇକୋର୍ଟ ଅନ୍ତରୀଣ ଅଙ୍କୁଶ ଜାରି କରିଛନ୍ତି। ୨୦୨୬, ଜୁଲାଇ ୮ ତାରିଖ ପୂର୍ବାହ୍ନ ୧୦ଟାରେ ଚିକିଟି ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ସମିତି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟାଳୟରେ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ନିର୍ବାଚନ ପାଇଁ ଜାରି ନୋଟିସ୍ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାରୀ ଉପରେ ପରବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ଶୁଣାଣି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ହାଇକୋର୍ଟ ଅନ୍ତରୀଣ ରହିତାଦେଶ ଜାରି କରିଛନ୍ତି। ଏଥି ସହିତ ଚିକିଟି ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ସମିତି ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ପଦ ପୂରଣ ପାଇଁ ଜାରି ନୋଟିସ୍ ବିରୋଧରେ ଦାୟର ମାମଲାରେ ହାଇକୋର୍ଟ ରାଜ୍ୟ ସରକାର, ରାଜ୍ୟ ନିର୍ବାଚନ କମିଶନ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ପ୍ରତିପକ୍ଷଙ୍କୁ ହାଇକୋର୍ଟ ନୋଟିସ୍ ଜାରି କରିଛନ୍ତି। ଜଷ୍ଟିସ୍ ବି. ନରସିଂହଙ୍କୁ ନେଇ ଗଠିତ ଖଣ୍ଡପୀଠ ଅକ୍ଷୟ କୁମାର ସେଠୀ, ଜପାରି ସୀମାଞ୍ଚଳ ଓ ମୋହନ ସାହୁଙ୍କ ତରଫରୁ ଦାୟର ଆବେଦନର ଶୁଣାଣି କରି ଏପରି ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ଆସନ୍ତା ଅଗଷ୍ଟ ୧୨ କୁ ମାମଲାର ପରବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ଶୁଣାଣି ପାଇଁ ଧାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରାଯାଇଛି। ମାମଲାର ବିବରଣୀରୁ ପ୍ରକାଶ ଯେ ଚିକିଟି ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ସମିତି ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷଙ୍କ ପରଲୋକ ପରେ ଏହି ପଦବି ଖାଲି ପଡିଥିଲା। ଏହାକୁ ପୂରଣ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଜୁନ ୩୦ରେ ବିଜ୍ଞପ୍ତି ପ୍ରକାଶ ପାଇଥିଲା। ଏହି ବିଜ୍ଞପ୍ତିକୁ ଚ୍ୟାଲେଞ୍ଜ କରି ଆବେଦନକାରୀ ହାଇକୋର୍ଟଙ୍କ ଦ୍ବାରସ୍ଥ ହୋଇଛନ୍ତି। ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ସମିତି ସଭ୍ୟ ପଦବି ଖାଲି ଥିବା ବେଳେ କେବଳ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ପଦ ପୂରଣ ପାଇଁ ନିର୍ବାଚନ ବିଜ୍ଞପ୍ତି ପ୍ରକାଶ କରାଯିବା ଆଇନ ଅନୁଯାୟୀ ଗ୍ରହଣୀୟ ନୁହେଁ। ଏପରି ବିଜ୍ଞପ୍ତି ‘ଓଡ଼ିଶା ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ସମିତି ନିର୍ବାଚନ ନିୟମାବଳୀ, ୧୯୯୧’ର ଉଲ୍ଲଘଂନ କରୁଛି ବୋଲି ଆବେଦନକାରୀଙ୍କ ତରଫରୁ ଦର୍ଶାଯାଇଥିଲା। ଆବେଦନକାରୀଙ୍କ ତରଫରୁ ବରିଷ୍ଠ ଆଇନଜୀବୀ ଲଲାଟେନ୍ଦୁ ସାମନ୍ତରାୟ ଓ ଆଇନଜୀବୀ କବିର କୁମାର ଜେନା ମାମଲା ପରିଚାଳନା କରୁଛନ୍ତି।

Sinapali, July 8 With the objective of expanding students’ knowledge, developing logical thinking, and fostering a healthy competitive spirit, Radio Swar Sangam 90.8 FM, a community radio station, organised an engaging General Knowledge Competition at Chalana Upper Primary School on Wednesday. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who impressed everyone with their knowledge, confidence, and quick responses. The programme was conducted under the supervision of teacher Baishnab Meher and was coordinated by Pradyumna Kumar Singh Chinda, Station Manager of Radio Swar Sangam, along with Lingaraj Jagat, Data Operator. Students were divided into different teams and participated in multiple rounds of quiz-based questions covering a wide range of subjects. In the competition, the Arjun Team, comprising Dolly Bag, Nirupama Mashra, and Dillip Mashra, secured the first position. The Sundar Team, represented by Arohi Nial, Sanghamitra Nayak, and Banita Mashra, finished second, while the Udanti Team, consisting of Lukta Bachha, Sophie Hans, and Gunadhar Bag, secured the third position. At the concluding ceremony, Headmaster Pradeep Kumar Joshi, senior teacher Mamita Pattnaik, teacher Ugresan Hans, and teacher Sumitra Meher felicitated the winners with certificates and prizes. Nuapada, July 8 In a significant step towards achieving the Prime Minister’s vision of a “TB-Free India,” 60 tuberculosis (TB) patients out of 210 registered patients in Nuapada Block were provided nutrition kits under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana during a special programme held at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Nuapada on Wednesday. The initiative was organised under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) in collaboration with the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre. The programme was conducted in the presence of District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO) Dilip Das, District Programme Coordinator (DPC) Tapas Bhoidar, Public-Private Mix (PPM) Coordinator Debiprasad Mishra, Senior Treatment Supervisor (STS) Narayan Hota, and Abhilash Mahapatra. The initiative is being implemented under the guidance of Nuapada Collector Madhusudan Dash and the leadership of Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Chairman of the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre. Over the past nine months, the project has been providing monthly nutrition kits to 800 TB patients across Nuapada district, along with nutritional support for three family members of each beneficiary. According to the organisers, the primary objective of the programme is to improve the nutritional status of TB patients and their families, facilitate faster recovery, and contribute to the national mission of eliminating tuberculosis from India. The successful implementation of the programme was supported by the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre team, including Project Head Yogita Borkar, Project Controller Ani Bhushan Ray, and Project Manager Satyajit Das, along with officials and healthcare staff of the district health department. On the occasion, Collector Madhusudan Dash appreciated the efforts of MCL and the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre, stating that such nutrition support initiatives and institutional partnerships play a crucial role in achieving the national goal of eliminating tuberculosis and ensuring better healthcare outcomes for patients.

Nuapada, July 8: With the objective of strengthening climate-resilient agriculture and preparing farmers to effectively cope with climate change-induced uncertainties during the upcoming Kharif season, a District-Level Climate Outlook Forum and Kharif Seasonal Planning Workshop was organised under the ADAPT4R (Adaptation for Resilience) project at Sadbhavana Sabhagruha on Tuesday. The workshop was chaired by Nuapada Collector Madhusudan Dash. Addressing the gathering, the Collector stated that Nuapada will be developed as a “Laboratory for Climate-Resilient Agriculture.” He stressed the need for integrated efforts among various departments to promote sustainable and profitable farming practices through the use of organic manure, water-saving technologies such as drip irrigation, and climate-smart agricultural interventions. Divisional Forest Officer and ADAPT4R District Nodal Officer Aziz Khan said the project aims to safeguard farmers from climate-related uncertainties and make agriculture more resilient ahead of the Kharif season. He emphasised that close coordination among different departments would be the key to transforming Nuapada into a model district for climate resilience. Junior Agrometeorologist Tapas Panigrahi from the Regional Meteorological Centre presented a detailed seasonal rainfall and monsoon forecast. He also highlighted how agriculture and allied departments could undertake timely preparedness measures based on weather predictions. Representatives from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nuapada, the project’s technical partner, shared information on climate-resilient farming technologies, farmer training programmes, modern agricultural advisory services, and awareness initiatives aimed at improving farmers’ adaptive capacity. The workshop featured detailed discussions on weather-based crop planning, coordinated action among agriculture, allied sectors, forestry, water resources, and other line departments. Participants also prepared a joint action plan to ensure timely dissemination of weather information to farmers and minimise the impact of climate-related risks on agriculture. Among those present were Additional District Magistrate (General) Subash Chandra Rait, Chief Development Officer-cum-CEO, Zilla Parishad Lambodar Dharua, Sub-Collector Surmi Soren, Divisional Forest Officer (Wildlife) Sameer Sahu, Block Development Officers, district-level officials, representatives of agriculture and allied departments, the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, and the World Food Programme (WFP). It is noteworthy that ADAPT4R (Adaptation for Resilience) is a five-year project being implemented initially in Nuapada district. The project primarily aims to enhance the climate resilience of vulnerable farming communities, with a special focus on empowering women farmers to adapt to the challenges posed by climate change.

Boden, July 8 Basic infrastructure at the Dongripada Anganwadi Centre under Palsada Gram Panchayat in Boden block of Nuapada district has deteriorated, causing immense inconvenience to children, Anganwadi workers, and beneficiaries. The hand pump installed at the centre has remained defunct, while the absence of a proper access road has further aggravated the situation, particularly during the monsoon season. The non-functional hand pump has created an acute shortage of safe drinking water at the centre. Children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers, who regularly visit the Anganwadi, are facing significant difficulties due to the lack of an adequate water supply. Residents allege that despite the problem persisting for a long time, no effective steps have been taken to restore the facility. The condition of the approach road has also become a major concern. With no proper road leading to the Anganwadi Centre, visitors are forced to walk through a narrow, uneven pathway. During the rainy season, the route becomes muddy and slippery, making it extremely difficult and unsafe for children, Anganwadi staff, and expectant mothers to reach the centre. Adding to the hardship, the overgrown vegetation surrounding the pathway has increased the risk of snake and other reptile encounters, raising serious concerns about the safety of children and staff. Parents have expressed fear over sending their children to the centre under such conditions. Local residents have urged the district administration and the concerned departments to take immediate action by repairing the defunct hand pump, constructing a proper approach road, and improving the basic infrastructure at the Anganwadi Centre. They said that ensuring safe drinking water and easy accessibility is essential for the effective implementation of child welfare and maternal health programmes. The villagers have appealed for urgent intervention, stating that the well-being and safety of young children and mothers should be treated as a priority and that the long-pending issues deserve immediate attention from the authorities.
