Nuapada, 17/06 Growing resentment among farmers over delays in paddy procurement, non-lifting of harvested paddy from mandis, and fertilizer shortages reached a boiling point in Nuapada district on Tuesday. During the visit of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, farmers voiced their grievances in a strong and organized protest. The situation turned dramatic when a farmer allegedly attempted suicide during the agitation, triggering widespread concern across the district. Hundreds of farmers from 21 villages under eight PACS (Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies) in Nuapada Sadar Block staged a demonstration in front of the District Collector’s office, alleging serious irregularities in the ongoing Rabi paddy procurement process. Farmers claimed that many had not yet received procurement tokens, while those who had received tokens were still waiting for their paddy to be lifted from the mandis. They also alleged deductions of 5 to 7 kilograms per quintal during procurement. Initially, Sub-Collector Surmi Soren attempted to pacify the protesters through discussions. However, the farmers insisted on meeting either the District Collector or the visiting minister directly. As hours passed without the arrival of senior officials, frustration among the protesters intensified. The agitation escalated when farmers blocked National Highway-353, disrupting traffic and affecting normal public movement for several hours. Under the scorching summer heat, the farmers sat on the highway, expressing their anguish over what they described as official apathy toward their plight. Meanwhile, a government meeting was underway at the district Sadbhavana Hall. Alleging that their concerns were being ignored, a farmer reportedly attempted suicide by tying a towel around his neck in the presence of officials. Police and administrative personnel intervened immediately, preventing any untoward incident and restoring calm. The episode highlighted the severity of the farmers’ distress and the growing desperation among the agricultural community. After nearly three hours, Minister Rabi Narayan Naik invited a delegation of farmers for discussions. The farmers pointed out that with the Kharif cultivation season beginning from June 16, the delay in paddy procurement had left them without the financial resources needed to prepare for the next crop cycle. “How can we invest in cultivation when our paddy has not been sold and payments have not been received?” the farmers questioned during the meeting. Later, District Collector Madhusudan Das, along with senior officials, joined the minister at the protest site and held direct discussions with the agitating farmers. The minister assured them that paddy lifting operations would be expedited from Wednesday onward across all mandis in the district. He further announced that a district-level officer would be stationed at each mandi to monitor the process and ensure smooth procurement. Strict action, he said, would be taken against any miller found delaying paddy lifting. Following these assurances, the farmers withdrew their protest at around 2 p.m. However, farmer leaders warned that if the paddy of all registered farmers is not lifted within the next five days, they would launch a more intense agitation. Responding to media queries, Minister Rabi Narayan Naik stated, “The government remains fully committed to addressing farmers’ issues. Ours is a farmers’ government, and we will continue to work for their welfare and protect their interests.” The agitation in Nuapada has once again brought the challenges of paddy procurement to the forefront, raising serious questions about ground-level implementation of procurement policies. Attention is now focused on how swiftly the administration delivers on its promises and restores confidence among the farming community.

Young Entrepreneurs Felicitated; Financial Assistance of ₹12.99 Lakh Distributed Nuapada, June 17: The “Self-Reliant Youth, Prosperous Odisha” Convention was successfully organized at the auditorium of National College, Nuapada, under the joint initiative of the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and the Department of Skill Development and Technical Education. The event was held as part of the state-wide Government Outreach and Citizen Engagement Programme, marking the completion of two years of the State Government. The convention was organized under the theme “Empowered MSMEs for a Developed Odisha” and the slogan “Development for All, Across Odisha.” The programme was chaired by Nuapada Collector Madhusudan Das and attended by Nuapada MLA Jay Dholakia and Khariar MLA Adhiraj Mohan Panigrahi as chief guests. Among the distinguished guests were Dr. Sonia Jain, Chairperson of Khariar Road NAC; Tareswari Sahu, Chairperson of Nuapada Panchayat Samiti; Lambodar Dharua, Chief Development Officer; and Hitesh Kumar Sahu, Principal of National College, Nuapada. Successful entrepreneurs Abhishek Agrawal and Badan Meher shared their entrepreneurial journeys and experiences, inspiring aspiring business owners. Both entrepreneurs were felicitated for their achievements during the programme. On the occasion, financial assistance amounting to ₹12,99,383 was distributed among beneficiaries under various MSME and Skill Development Department schemes. Under the Nano Unicorn Scheme, five young entrepreneurs received incentive support of ₹1 lakh each. Additionally, pension assistance was provided to 11 beneficiaries. Addressing the gathering, the chief guests emphasized that various government schemes are playing a significant role in making the youth self-reliant and economically empowered. Nuapada, 17/06 With schools across the district set to reopen on Wednesday after the summer vacation, the Nuapada district administration has taken an important step in view of the prevailing heatwave conditions and oppressive weather. Prioritizing the health and safety of students, District Collector Madhusudan Das has ordered a temporary change in school timings from June 18 to June 20. According to an order issued by the District Education Officer, all government, government-aided, and private schools in the district will function from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. during this period. The decision has been taken to protect students from rising temperatures and the adverse effects of extreme heat during the later part of the day. The revised schedule will apply not only to regular schools but also to primary, upper primary, secondary, and higher secondary institutions, including Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas operating within the district. The district administration has directed all headmasters and principals to strictly adhere to the revised schedule and ensure adequate arrangements for drinking water, rest, and other essential facilities for students. Special emphasis has been placed on safeguarding students from heat-related illnesses and maintaining a safe learning environment during the ongoing heatwave conditions. It is noteworthy that over the past several days, Nuapada and other parts of western Odisha have been experiencing high temperatures accompanied by increased humidity, resulting in uncomfortable and sultry weather conditions. In light of these circumstances, the decision to introduce morning school hours has been widely welcomed by parents and members of the education community. The administration’s move is being viewed as a timely and responsible measure aimed at balancing academic activities with the health and well-being of students during the ongoing summer heat.

Sinapali, June 17 Farmers, hoping to sell the fruits of their year-long hard work at a fair price, have brought their paddy to the procurement centre. However, despite possessing valid government-issued tokens, the procurement process has not yet begun, pushing farmers’ frustration in the Sinapali mandi to a boiling point. Days of uncertainty, prolonged waiting, and administrative inefficiency have left farmers deeply worried about the fate of their produce. At the paddy procurement centre located in Sinapali block headquarters of Nuapada district, not a single farmer’s paddy has been procured even though the mandi has already opened. Farmers who deposited their paddy as per the allotted token schedule have been waiting for several days, but the procurement process remains stalled. As a result, disappointment and resentment among farmers continue to grow. According to the farmers, the crisis has been aggravated by a lack of coordination in mandi management and the indifferent attitude of concerned officials. Although large quantities of paddy are lying ready for procurement, delays caused by the absence of millers and the slow pace of official procedures have put farmers in distress. Repeated appeals to the Supply Department and PACS authorities have reportedly yielded nothing more than assurances to “wait patiently.” Meanwhile, anxiety among farmers has intensified as the validity period of their procurement tokens is nearing expiry. Paddy heaps lying in the open are vulnerable to rain and other natural factors, raising fears of significant losses. Farmers also alleged that the mandi operates irregularly, opening on some days and remaining closed on others, exposing serious gaps in administrative coordination. Seeking an immediate and permanent solution, farmers from across the Sinapali region united and submitted a memorandum to the local Tahsildar. After hearing their grievances, the Tahsildar acknowledged the seriousness of the issue and assured them that discussions would be held with millers at the earliest to facilitate immediate lifting and procurement of paddy from the mandi. However, farmers remain unconvinced by the assurances. Farmer leaders Pramod Kumar Joshi and Giten Meher warned that if paddy lifting does not begin by tomorrow and the cooperative society authorities fail to act promptly, farmers will be compelled to launch a large-scale protest by blocking the highway in front of the mandi. Farmers emphasized that the delay in procurement is not merely an economic issue but a matter directly linked to their livelihood and survival. They cautioned that unless the administration intervenes immediately and resolves the crisis, the situation could escalate further in the coming days. The growing unrest at the Sinapali mandi has once again highlighted the urgent need for efficient coordination among procurement agencies, millers, and administrative authorities to ensure that farmers receive timely support and the rightful value for their hard-earned produce.

Sinapali, June 17 Situated on the Odisha–Chhattisgarh border, Sinapali is not merely a geographical location but a vibrant centre of literature, culture, and linguistic pride. This land has produced numerous literary personalities and has continuously contributed to preserving the identity of the Odia language. In recognition of this rich literary heritage, the Jayanti of renowned poet Chandicharan Bishi was observed on Wednesday at PM SHRI High School, Sinapali, in a solemn and inspiring atmosphere. The event, organized by the local Gangadhar Saraswat Samiti, witnessed the participation of poets, educationists, literary enthusiasts, and culture lovers, creating a unique literary environment. The meeting was presided over by Samiti president Baishnab Meher. Block Education Officer Jatindra Kumar Seth attended as the chief guest, while noted educationist Chandrabhanu Kashyap, poet’s son Umakanta Bishi, Headmaster Manoranjan Meher, and committee secretary Taun Kumar Meher graced the occasion as distinguished guests. The programme began with floral tributes to the portrait of poet Chandicharan Bishi. A welcome song presented by vocalists Chudamani Meher and Deepak Sa added a touching and emotional tone to the gathering. On the occasion, Premananda Meher, Laikhan Majhi, Gauri Meher, Harekrushna Meher, Shashwati Hota, Dhabaleswar Meher, Binisha Meher, and Yashobanta Sa recited their self-composed poems. Senior poets Bijaya Kumar Joshi, Shivaprasad Meher, Paresh Nath Panigrahi, Pradyumna Singh Chinda, and December Meher reviewed the poems and offered constructive literary critiques. ଢେଙ୍କାନାଳ-ଭୁବନ: ଭୁବନ ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ସମିତି ଆନୁକୂଲ୍ୟରେ ରାଜ୍ୟ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ଦୁଇ ବର୍ଷ ପୂର୍ତ୍ତି ସମାରୋହ ପାଳନ କରାଯାଇଛି । ବିଡ଼ିଓ ଶ୍ରୀମତୀ ଆୟୁଷି ମହାପାତ୍ର ଙ୍କ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷତାରେ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠିତ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମରେ କାମାକ୍ଷା ନଗର ବିଧାୟକ ଶତ୍ରୁଘ୍ନ ଜେନା ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଅତିଥି ଭାବେ ଯୋଗଦେଇ କହିଥିଲେ ଯେ,ଦୁଇ ବର୍ଷରେ ସୁଭଦ୍ରା ଯୋଜନା ଓ ମୁଖ୍ଯମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ କନ୍ୟା ବିବାହ ଯୋଜନା ସରକାରଙ୍କର ସବୁଠାରୁ ବଡ଼ ଉପଲବ୍ଧି ଓ ସର୍ବାଧିକ ଲୋକପ୍ରିୟ ଯୋଜନା । ଭୁବନ ବ୍ଲକ ରେ ଚାଲିଥିବା ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଉନ୍ନୟନ ମୂଳକ ଯୋଜନା ସମ୍ପର୍କରେ ସୂଚନା ଦେବା ସହ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ଅର୍ଥ ଆୟୋଗ ଏବଂ ରାଜ୍ୟ ଅର୍ଥ ଆୟୋଗ ଜରିଆରେ ସାରା ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ୫୦୦ ଟି କଲ୍ୟାଣ ମଣ୍ଡପ ନିର୍ମାଣ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୋଇଥିବା ବେଳେ ୧୧୦ ଟି ପୋଖରୀର ପୁନରୁଦ୍ଧାର କରାଯାଇଛି । ୨୫୬ ଟି ମାର୍କେଟ କମ୍ଲେକ୍ସ ନିର୍ମାଣ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ସମାପ୍ତ ହୋଇଥିବା ବେଳେ ୩୮୫ ଟି ଗ୍ରାମୀଣ ହାଟ ର ବିକାଶ କରାଯାଇଛି । ବ୍ୟାଙ୍କ ସେବା ନଥିବା ଗ୍ରାମ ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ଗୁଡିକରେ ବ୍ୟାଙ୍କିଙ୍ଗ ସୁବିଧା ଅଧୀନରେ ୧୦୬୮ ଟି ବ୍ୟାଙ୍କ ଶାଖା ଖୋଲାଯାଇଛି ଏବଂ ସମୁଦାୟ ୧୯୦୪ ଟି ବନ ସୁରକ୍ଷା ସମିତି ଗଠନ କରାଯାଇଛି । ଏହାବାଦ୍ ପାନୀୟ ଜଳ ଓ ପରିମଳ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାର ସୁଦୃଢ଼ୀକରଣ,ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ଭିତ୍ତିଭୂମି ର ଉନ୍ନତି,ଜଳ ସଂରକ୍ଷଣ ଓ ଜଳ ସମ୍ପଦ ପରିଚାଳନା ,ଗ୍ରାମୀଣ ଭିତ୍ତିଭୂମିର ବିକାଶ ଓ ରକ୍ଷଣାବେକ୍ଷଣ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଜାରି ରହିଛି । ବିକାଶର ଧାରା,ଓଡ଼ିଶା ସାରା ବୋଲି ବିଧାୟକ ଶ୍ରୀଯୁକ୍ତ ଜେନା ମତବ୍ୟକ୍ତ କରିଥିଲେ। ସମ୍ମାନିତ ଅତିଥି ଭାବେ ବରିଷ୍ଠ ବିଜେପି ନେତା ତଥା ପୂର୍ବତନ ବ୍ଲକ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ପ୍ରେମାନନ୍ଦ ଜେନା ଯୋଗଦେଇ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଜନ କଲ୍ୟାଣ ଯୋଜନା,ସେବା ଓ ବିକାଶମୂଳକ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମ ସମ୍ପର୍କରେ ଆଲୋକପାତ କରିଥିଲେ। ଏହି ଅବସରରେ ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଅନ୍ନପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣା ଯୋଜନାରେ ୫୦ ଜଣଙ୍କୁ ରାସନ କାର୍ଡ,୨୮ ଭିନ୍ନକ୍ଷମ ଓ ବିଧବା ମହିଳା ଙ୍କୁ ଭତ୍ତା ପ୍ରଦାନ ଏବଂ ୩୪ ଜଣଙ୍କୁ ଅନ୍ତ୍ୟୋଦୟ ଗୃହ ଯୋଜନାର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟାଦେଶ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା। ଏହି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମରେ ବିଜେପି ସମର୍ଥିତ ସରପଞ୍ଚ, ସମିତି ସଭ୍ୟ,ଜିଲ୍ଲା ପରିଷଦ ସଭ୍ୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ଥିଲେ ଓ ବ୍ଲକ ର ସମସ୍ତ କର୍ମଚାରୀ ସକ୍ରିୟ ଅଂଶ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଥିଲେ।

ଏରସମା, ଜଗତସିଂହପୁର: ପରିବାରିକ ବିବାଦକୁ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର କରି ଏରସମା ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ଘଟିଛି ଏକ ଚାଞ୍ଚଲ୍ୟକର ଘଟଣା। ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଟଙ୍କା ଦେବାକୁ ମନା କରିବାରୁ ଉତ୍ତ୍ୟକ୍ତ ହୋଇ ସ୍ୱାମୀ ଖଣ୍ଡା ଓ ବନ୍ଧୁକ ଧରି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ୟା କରିବାକୁ ଉଦ୍ୟମ କରିଥିବା ଅଭିଯୋଗ ହୋଇଛି। ସୂଚନା ଅନୁଯାୟୀ, ପାରିବାରିକ କଳହ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅର୍ଥ ଲେଣଦେଣକୁ ନେଇ ସ୍ୱାମୀ-ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବିବାଦ ଉପୁଜିଥିଲା। ଏହା ପରେ ଅଭିଯୁକ୍ତ ସ୍ୱାମୀ ଉତ୍ତେଜିତ ହୋଇ ଧାରୁଆ ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ଏବଂ ବନ୍ଧୁକ ଧରି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଆକ୍ରମଣ ଉଦ୍ୟମ କରିଥିଲେ। ଘଟଣାସ୍ଥଳରେ ଭୟ ଓ ଆତଙ୍କର ପରିବେଶ ସୃଷ୍ଟି ହୋଇଥିଲା। ଘଟଣା ସମ୍ପର୍କରେ ଅଭିଯୋଗ ପାଇବା ପରେ ଏରସମା ପୁଲିସ ତୁରନ୍ତ ତଦନ୍ତ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରି ତ୍ୱରିତ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟାନୁଷ୍ଠାନ ନେଇ ଅଭିଯୁକ୍ତ ସ୍ୱାମୀଙ୍କୁ ଗିରଫ କରିଛି। ପୁଲିସ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ଘଟଣାର ଅଧିକ ତଦନ୍ତ ଜାରି ରହିଛି। ପରିବାରିକ ବିବାଦ କିପରି ହିଂସାତ୍ମକ ରୂପ ନେଇ ଜୀବନ ପ୍ରତି ବିପଦ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିପାରେ, ଏହି ଘଟଣା ତାହାର ଏକ ଜ୍ୱଳନ୍ତ ଉଦାହରଣ ବୋଲି ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ଚର୍ଚ୍ଚା ହେଉଛି।

ଗଞ୍ଜାମ, ବେଗୁନିଆପଡା: ଦୀର୍ଘ ୩ ମାସ ଧରି ଭତ୍ତା ନ ପାଇ ଶେଷରେ ଜୀବନ ହାରିଦେଲେ ୬୬ ବର୍ଷୀୟା ବୃଦ୍ଧା। ଘଟଣା ଘଟିଛି ଗଞ୍ଜାମ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ବେଗୁନିଆପଡ଼ା ବ୍ଳକ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଗତ ମର୍ଦ୍ଦକୋଟ ଗ୍ରାମ ପଞ୍ଚାୟତର ଚଢିଆପଡା ଗ୍ରାମରେ। ଭତ୍ତା ଟଙ୍କା ଆକାଉଣ୍ଟ୍ କୁ ଆସିଲା କି ନାହିଁ ସେ ନେଇ ବାରମ୍ବାର ବ୍ୟାଙ୍କ ଦୌଡୁଥିଲେ। ଦୀର୍ଘ ୩ ମାସ ଧରି ଭତ୍ତା ନ ଆସିବାରୁ ମାନସିକ ଭାରସାମ୍ୟ ହରାଇ ଗତ ରବିବାର ଆତ୍ମହତ୍ୟା କରିଦେଲେ ବୃଦ୍ଧା ମହିଳା। ବୃଦ୍ଧା ଜଣକ ହେଲେ ଚଢିଆପଡା ଗ୍ରାମର ବି ସାବିତ୍ରୀ ଦୋରା। ଗୁରୁତର ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କୋଦଳା ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ସ୍ଵାସ୍ଥ୍ୟକେନ୍ଦ୍ରରେ ଭର୍ତ୍ତି କରାଯାଇଥିଲା।ଅବସ୍ଥା ଶଙ୍କଟାପନ୍ନ ଥିବାରୁ ଡକ୍ଟର ତାଙ୍କୁ ବ୍ରହ୍ମପୁର ବଡ଼ ମେଡିକାଲ କୁ ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତର କରିଥିଲେ ତେବେ ସେଠାରେ ଡାକ୍ତର ତାଙ୍କୁ ମୃତ ଘୋଷଣା କରିଥିଲେ। ପରେ ତାଙ୍କର ମରଶରୀର କୁ ସେଠାରେ ପୋଷ୍ଟ ମୋଟମ୍ କରାଯିବା ପରେ ଅନ୍ତିମ ସଂସ୍କାର କରାଯାଇଥିବା ଜଣାପଡ଼ିଛି । ନିର୍ବାଚନ ସମୟରେ ଭତ୍ତା ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଇଁ ବିଜେପି ପ୍ରତିଶ୍ରୁତି ଦେଇଥିଲା। ସରକାର ଗଠନ ପରେ ପ୍ରତିଶ୍ରୁତି ତ ପୂରଣ ହୋଇନି। ଓଲଟା ପ୍ରଚଳିତ ଭତ୍ତା ବନ୍ଦ କରି ଦେଇଥିବା ଅଭିଯୋଗ ହୋଇଛି। କାହାର ଦୁଇ ମାସ ତ ଆଉ କାହାର ଚାରି ମାସ ହେବ ଆକାଉଣ୍ଟ ଆସୁନି ଭତ୍ତା ଟଙ୍କା ।ନାହିଁ ନଥିବା jଅସୁବିଧାର ସମ୍ମୁଖୀନ ହେଉଛନ୍ତି ହିତାଧିକାରୀ । ବାରମ୍ବାର ବ୍ୟାଙ୍କ ଦୌଡ଼ି ଦୌଡ଼ି ନିରାଶ ହେଉଛନ୍ତି। ସେପଟେ ଘଟଣାକୁ ନେଇ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ବର୍ଷିବା ସହ ଘଟଣାର ବିଧିବଦ୍ଧ ତଦନ୍ତ ପାଇଁ ଦାବି କରିଛନ୍ତି ଆସ୍କା ସାଂସଦ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥୀନୀ ତଥା ବିଜେଡ଼ି ନେତ୍ରୀ ରଞ୍ଜିତା ସାହୁ ।

ଗଞ୍ଜାମ ଜିଲ୍ଲାର ଆସିକା ପୌର ପରିଷଦ ଅଧୀନସ୍ଥ ୧୦ ନମ୍ୱର ୱାର୍ଡ ତାଲୁକା ରୋଡ଼ ର ୬୫ ବର୍ଷିୟ କୈଳାଶ ବିଶ୍ବାଳ । ଦୀର୍ଘ ପ୍ରାୟ ୪୮ ବର୍ଷ ହେବ ନିଃସ୍ଵାର୍ଥପର ଭାବେ ମଣିଷର ଶେଷଯାତ୍ରା ବେଳର ଦରଦୀ ବନ୍ଧୁ ସାଜିଛନ୍ତି କୈଳାଶ ବିଶ୍ବାଳ ।  ଚିହ୍ନା  ହୁଅନ୍ତୁ କି ଅଚିହ୍ନା ଆସିକା ସହର ତଥା ଏହାର ଆଖପାଖ ଅଞ୍ଚଳର କାହାରି ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଖବର ପାଇବା ମାତ୍ରେ ସବୁ  କାର୍ଯ୍ୟପଛ ରେ ପକାଇ ସବ ସଂସ୍କାର ରେ ସହଯୋଗ କରିବା ପାଇଁ   ଆଗେଇ  ଆସନ୍ତି। ଦରଦୀ ବନ୍ଧୁ  ରୂପେ ପରିଚିତ ଥିବା କୈଳାଶ ବିଶ୍ବାଳ ମୃତକଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମୀୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପହଞ୍ଚି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିବା ଠାରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରି କୋକେଇ ବାନ୍ଧିବା, ପାଇକପିଠି ଯୋଗାଣ୍ଡ କରିବା ଏବଂ ଶ୍ମଶାନରେ ଶେଷକୃତ୍ୟ ସମ୍ପନ୍ନ ହେବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସବୁକାର୍ଯ୍ୟରେ ଭାଗ ନେଇଥାନ୍ତି  ଶେଷ ସମୟରେ ବନ୍ଧୁ ହିଁ ପ୍ରକୃତ ବନ୍ଧୁ । ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ବ୍ୟସ୍ତବହୁଳ ଓ ସ୍ଵାର୍ଥ ସର୍ବସ୍ଵ ଦୁନିଆରେ କାହାରିପାଇଁ କାହାର ସମୟ ନଥାଏ । ସମସ୍ତେ ନିଜ ନିଜର ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଗତ ଦୁନିଆରେ ବ୍ୟସ୍ତ । ତେବେ ଶେଷଯାତ୍ରା ବେଳର ବନ୍ଧୁ ହିଁ ପ୍ରକୃତ ବନ୍ଧୁ ବୋଲି ସତ କରି ଦେଖାଇଛନ୍ତି ଆସିକା ପୌର ପରିଷଦ ଅଧୀନସ୍ଥ ୧୦ନଂ ୱାର୍ଡର  ତାଲୁକା ରୋଡ ବାସିନ୍ଦା କୈଳାଶ ବିଶ୍ବାଳ । ସଭିଙ୍କ ମହଲରେ ସେ କୈଳାଶ ଭାଇ ରୂପେ ସୁପରିଚିତ । ୬୫ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଏକ ହଜାରରୁ ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ବ ଶବସଂସ୍କାର କରି ସାରିଲେଣି ଆସିକା  ଅଞ୍ଚଳ ରେ ୪୮ ବର୍ଷରୁ ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ବ ସମୟ ଧରି ଏହି ପୂଣ୍ୟ କାମ ସହ ଜଡିତ । ଆସିକା ସହର ତଥା ଏହାର ଆଖପାଖ ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ଧନୀ ଅବା ଗରିବ ହେଉ ଯେଉଁଠି ବି କୌଣସି ଲୋକଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁଖବର ଶୁଣିବା ମାତ୍ରେ ବିନା ସ୍ଵାର୍ଥରେ କୈଳାଶ ବିଶ୍ବାଳ ସେଠାରେ ପହଞ୍ଚି ମୃତକଙ୍କ ପରିଜନଙ୍କ ସହ ଦୁଃଖରେ ସାମିଲ ହୋଇ ସମବେଦନା ଜଣାଇବା ସହ ପାରମ୍ପରିକ ରୀତିରେ ଶେଷକୃତ୍ୟ ସଂପନ୍ନରେ ଲାଗି ପଡିଥାନ୍ତି । ଶବସଂସ୍କାର ଏକ ଜଟିଳ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହୋଇଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏଥିରେ ସେ ଆନନ୍ଦ ପାଆନ୍ତି । ଏହି ଶବସଂସ୍କାର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ କେବେ କାହାଠାରୁ ପାରିଶ୍ରମିକ ବାବଦରେ କିଛି ପାଇବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ । ତେବେ କେହି  କିଛି ବି ଦିଅତି ସେ ଫେରାଇ ଦିଅନ୍ତି । ଯାହାହିଁ ଫଳରେ ଜଣେ ନିଆରା ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିତ୍ଵ ଭାବେ ଆସିକା ପୌର ପରିଷଦ ଅଧୀନସ୍ଥ  ତାଲୁକା ରୋଡର କୈଳାଶ ବିଶ୍ବାଳ ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ନିଜର ଏକ ସ୍ଵତନ୍ତ୍ର ପରିଚୟ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିପାରିଥିବା ବେଳେ କେହି ନାହିଁ ସାହାର ସମାଜସେବୀ କୈଳାଶ ବିଶ୍ବାଳ ଅଛନ୍ତି ତାଙ୍କର ବୋଲି କହିଲ ଅତ୍ୟୁକ୍ତି ହେବ ନାହିଁ । ସଭିଙ୍କ ମହଲରେ ସେ ବେଶ କୈଳାଶ ଭାଇ ରୂପେ ସୁପରିଚିତ । ଯେ କୌଣସି ଜାତି ଅବା ଅନ୍ୟ ସଂପ୍ରଦାୟର ହେଉ କାଳ  ବିଳମ୍ବ ନକରି ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଖବର ଶୁଣିବା ମାତ୍ରେ ନିଜର କାମ ଛାଡି  କୈଳାଶ ବିଶ୍ବାଳ ସେଠାରେ ପହଞ୍ଚଥାନ୍ତି । ତାଙ୍କୁ ସେତେବେଳେ ପ୍ରାୟ ୧୭ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସ ହୋଇଥିଲା ସେବେଠାରୁ ସେ ଏହି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟରେ ନିୟୋଜିତ ଅଛନ୍ତି । ଏଥ୍ପାଇଁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଆତ୍ମସନ୍ତୋଷ ମିଳିଥାଏ । ଜୀବନର ଶେଷ ନିଶ୍ଵାସ ଥିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେ ଏହି ଶବସଂସ୍କାର କାମ କରିବା ଲାଗି ସଂକଳ୍ପବଦ୍ଧ । ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ପ୍ରାୟ ଏକ ହଜାରରୁ ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ବ ଶବସଂସ୍କାର କରି ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଅଞ୍ଚଳବାସୀଙ୍କ ପ୍ରିୟଭାଜନ ହୋଇପାରିଛନ୍ତି କୈଳାଶ ବିଶ୍ବାଳ ।
