SRM Gives a Dignified Farewell to an Unclaimed and Helpless Person: A Remarkable Gesture of Humanity and Social Responsibility

Nuapada, September 12: Humanity is not measured only by what we do for people during their lifetime, but also by the dignity and respect we extend to them in their final journey. Setting an inspiring example of compassion and social responsibility, Students Raktadata Mahasangha (SRM), Nuapada, came forward to perform the last rites of a helpless and destitute person. In the absence of family members or relatives to perform the final rites, members of SRM stepped forward and took responsibility for ensuring that the deceased received a respectful and dignified farewell. The members participated in the last journey and completed the funeral rites with due respect and solemnity. The initiative reflects SRM’s commitment to humanitarian service. Known for its activities related to blood donation and social welfare, the organisation has once again demonstrated that humanity goes beyond blood relations and personal connections. Speaking on the occasion, members of the organisation said that every human being deserves dignity even after death. They emphasised that true humanity is reflected when society stands beside those who have no one to support them, particularly during their final journey. Manoj Patel, President of Nava Nirman Sangha, Harshavardhan Bag, Founder of SRM, along with Vicky Gupta, Asit Sabar, Sarthak Kanta, Sunil Rout, Ashok Dubey and Nirmal Ahir, among others, were present and extended their support in completing the funeral rites. The members of SRM also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and offered their condolences. The initiative has been widely appreciated as a meaningful example of compassion, dignity and social responsibility, sending a strong message that no person should be left without respect in their final journey.
