The Kapsi Bargachh Chhak came alive with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm as the 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour at Sadar Kapsi village under Sinapali Gram Panchayat on Saturday.
The national celebration was organised under the leadership of Suresh Das, former Ward Member of Sinapali Gram Panchayat, with active support from the villagers. Students and teachers of Kapsi Primary and Upper Primary Schools, along with a large number of local residents, participated enthusiastically in the programme.
Following the hoisting of the National Flag, everyone present joined in singing the National Anthem and paid tribute to the freedom fighters, brave martyrs and great patriots who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom. The enthusiastic participation of the young students added a special charm to the celebration and filled the entire atmosphere with patriotic fervour.
A 15–20-Year Tradition of Patriotism
The Independence Day celebration at Kapsi carries a remarkable tradition. Suresh Das has been organising the celebration continuously for nearly 15–20 years, bringing villagers together to observe the country’s most important national festival.
Over the years, the celebration has grown beyond a simple flag-hoisting ceremony and has become a symbol of unity, community participation and patriotism in Kapsi. Residents appreciated the continued efforts to keep the spirit of Independence Day alive among people of all age groups.
The long-standing tradition also serves as an inspiration for the younger generation, reminding them of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters for India’s independence.
Independence Day is not merely a one-day celebration; it is a reminder of our responsibility towards the nation, unity and democratic values. The long-running celebration at Kapsi stands as a living example of how patriotism can become a cherished community tradition.
