Professor Gayadhar Mahanti Assumes Charge as Principal; Pledges Quality Education and Holistic Institutional Development

Nuapada: A grand felicitation ceremony was organized at Biju Patnaik Higher Secondary School, Boden, under Boden Block of Nuapada district, to welcome Professor Gayadhar Mahanti, who recently assumed charge as the new Principal of the institution. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from teachers, staff members, and students, creating a festive atmosphere across the campus. The meeting was conducted by Professor Upendra Banjara, while Professor Samuel Dani highlighted Professor Mahanti’s remarkable 35 years and 3 months of dedicated service in the field of education. He praised his student-friendly approach, punctuality, discipline, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence, expressing confidence that the institution would scale new heights under his leadership. As part of the ceremonial welcome, Professor Sanamati Mahanand and Professor Bhumisuta Nag performed the traditional Bandapana ritual and honoured the new Principal with a bouquet, coconut, and ceremonial stole. He was then escorted in a procession from the auditorium to the Principal’s office. After offering prayers to Lord Jagannath, Professor Mahanti formally assumed office and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone present. Addressing the gathering, Professor Gayadhar Mahanti stated that he would strive to complete the unfinished initiatives of former Principal Hemant Kumar Munda while focusing on enhancing academic standards, strengthening institutional infrastructure, and ensuring the overall development of students. He emphasized that cooperation, goodwill, and unity among all stakeholders would be the key to the institution’s continued progress. The programme was attended by Professors Chandan Sahu, Shankar Meher, Debashish Dandsena, Swapleshwar Behera, Priyanka Meher, Shivani Munda, Swapna Pradhani, Shivani Panigrahi, Deepanti Dhangada Majhi, Sonali Naik, Physical Education Teacher Parameswar Panda, Rajendra Panigrahi, Madan Mohan Munda, Abhishek Gual, Mahendra Kaibarta, Pura Nag, Pabitra Sa, Jitendra Naik, Rukmani Nag, and several other faculty members and staff. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Sanamati Mahanand, Head of the Odia Department, who invoked the blessings of Goddess Duarshuni for the continued success and prosperity of the institution. Those present expressed confidence that the appointment of Professor Gayadhar Mahanti marks the beginning of a new chapter of academic excellence, discipline, and all-round development for the school.
