Preparations Begin for Grand Community Nuakhai Bhetghat Celebration in Sinapali: Event to Spread the Message of Unity, Brotherhood and Cultural Harmony

With the objective of making the grand festival of Western Odisha, Nuakhai, more vibrant and memorable, preparations for the Community Nuakhai Bhetghat (Get-Together) Programme have begun in full swing at Sinapali in Nuapada district. The unique social initiative, which was started two years ago by local youths, has received widespread appreciation from various sections of society for promoting unity, brotherhood and cultural values among the people. A preparatory meeting for this year’s Nuakhai Bhetghat programme was held at the premises of the local Jagannath Temple. The meeting was presided over by Trinath Meher. During the meeting, a detailed review of last year’s programme was conducted, and discussions were held to prepare a roadmap for successfully organising this year’s event. A Nuakhai Celebration Committee was formed unanimously during the meeting, and various office bearers were selected for the smooth management of the programme. Trinath Meher was selected as the President of the committee. Rajani Majhi, Suraj Meher, Manoranjan Meher, Jitendra Meher, Sushant Kumar and Shailesh Sa were appointed as Vice Presidents. Similarly, Prabhat Kumar Meher was appointed as the Secretary, while Santosh Nayak, Nitish Meher, Sanjib Bhakta, Arun Meher, Sunil Meher, Raju Majhi, Manoj Jagat, Anil Meher and Naresh Majhi were selected as Assistant Secretaries. Jatindra Meher was appointed as the Cultural Secretary, Bikash Meher as the Fund Collection In-charge, and Rashmiranjan Sa as the Treasurer of the committee. More than a hundred senior citizens and youths of the locality participated in the meeting and shared their valuable suggestions for making the Nuakhai Bhetghat programme a grand success. The organisers expressed hope that this year’s event will become a remarkable platform for social bonding, cultural exchange and community harmony in Sinapali. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Manoranjan Meher.
