Nuapada Shines Again at State Level: Secures First Position in Family Planning Programme, Third in PPIUCD Services
Nuapada, July 10 Nuapada district has once again brought laurels to Odisha by demonstrating excellence in the field of public healthcare. Owing to the dedicated efforts of its healthcare workforce, effective planning, and coordinated implementation, the district has secured first place in the state for its overall performance in the Family Planning Programme for the year 2025–26. In addition, Nuapada has achieved third place in Odisha for the acceptance and implementation of Post-Partum Intrauterine Contraceptive Device (PPIUCD) services, marking yet another milestone in maternal and family welfare. The awards were presented during the State-Level World Population Day 2026 celebration, held at Krushi Bhavan in Bhubaneswar by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Odisha. On behalf of Nuapada district, Dr. J. S. Mohanty, Additional District Public Health Officer (Family Welfare), received the awards. Congratulating the district health team on this remarkable achievement, Collector Madhusudan Dash appreciated the dedicated services of doctors, nurses, ANMs, ASHA workers, health officials, and all frontline healthcare personnel. He stated that the recognition reflects the district’s strong teamwork, commitment, and successful implementation of people-centric healthcare services. Officials noted that family planning is not merely about population control but is also a crucial component of maternal and child health, healthy family development, and overall social progress. Nuapada’s outstanding performance in this sector has emerged as a model for other districts in the state. Senior district officials also congratulated the Health Department on the achievement and expressed confidence that the recognition would further strengthen family welfare initiatives and encourage the district to continue delivering quality healthcare services to the people.
