Van Mahotsav Celebrated in Boden

Tree Plantation Drive Promotes the Message “One Tree, One Life”; Citizens Urged to Protect the Environment Boden, July 3 As per the directives of the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department, Government of Odisha, the Forest Department, Boden, observed Van Mahotsav Week on Friday with a large-scale tree plantation programme. The event aimed to spread awareness about environmental conservation, forest protection, and the importance of building a greener and more sustainable Odisha. JMFC Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Das, who attended the programme as the chief guest, highlighted the vital role of tree plantation in maintaining ecological balance. Addressing the gathering, he said that every citizen should plant at least one tree and take responsibility for its care to ensure a healthier environment for future generations. Among the dignitaries present were Boden Block Development Officer Chinmaya Sagar, Officer-in-Charge of Boden Police Station Dharmendra Kumar Bhoi, Boden Forester Khageswar Majhi, Patdara Forester Sanjay Kumar Majhi, and Sub-Inspector Bighnaraj Majhi. Officials and staff of the Forest Department and Boden Police, along with students of Biju Pattnaik Higher Secondary School, actively participated in the programme by planting saplings. The participants also pledged to nurture and protect the trees to ensure their healthy growth. The programme concluded with a collective appeal for active public participation in environmental protection, forest conservation, and efforts to combat the growing challenges of climate change through sustained tree plantation and conservation initiatives.
