District-Level Launch of VB-GRAM G in Nuapada: A New Push for Rural Employment and Livelihood Empowerment

With the objective of accelerating rural employment generation, livelihood development, and strengthening Gram Panchayats, the district-level public outreach and launch programme of the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rural Employment and Livelihood Mission (VB-GRAM G) was held on Thursday at the NIC Video Conference Hall in Nuapada.
The mission was launched nationally from Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, through a video conference by Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. On the occasion, the Union Minister interacted virtually with beneficiaries and stakeholders associated with the mission from various states across the country, emphasizing the importance of public participation in achieving sustainable rural development. Officials and public representatives from Nuapada also joined the national launch virtually.
The district-level programme was presided over by Nuapada Collector Madhusudan Dash. Among those present were Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Lambodar Dharua, Additional Executive Officer (Administration) Kshamanidhi Bhoi, Nuapada Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Tareshwari Sahu, along with BDOs, ABDOs, MGNREGA coordinators, Assistant Executive Engineers, Panchayat representatives, members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), PEOs, ADEOs, GRS personnel, technical staff, and officials from various government departments.
During the programme, detailed discussions were held on the objectives of the VB-GRAM G Mission, focusing on rural livelihood enhancement, employment generation, inter-departmental convergence, public participation, and the strengthening of Gram Panchayats. Speakers highlighted that close coordination among the administration, Panchayat representatives, and all concerned departments would be crucial for the successful implementation of the mission.
Concluding the event, the district administration appealed to all departments, Panchayat representatives, and stakeholders to extend their active cooperation for the effective implementation of VB-GRAM G. It was expressed that the mission would play a significant role in strengthening the rural economy, expanding employment opportunities, and building self-reliant villages in the district.
