Poetry and Short Story Collections Unveiled at Lokadrusti College

Khariar, June 26 A grand book release ceremony was organized at Lokadrusti College, Gadramunda, under the auspices of the Khariar Research Foundation, celebrating the literary contributions of noted poet and fiction writer Upendra Panigrahi. On the occasion, his poetry collection “Amruta Anuraga” and short story collection “Aparajita” were officially unveiled. The programme was presided over by retired Headmaster Balabhadra Mahouti, while retired administrative officer Ramachandra Mohanty attended as the Chief Guest. Eminent poet Nilalohita Sindeo graced the event as the Guest of Honour. The poetry collection Amruta Anuraga was reviewed by Dr. Sushanta Kumar Bishi, Headmaster of Rudrapadmini High School, Chindaguda, whereas the short story collection Aparajita was reviewed by retired professor Dr. Lohitaksha Joshi. Poet Sanatan Mahouti was also present on the dais. Speakers appreciated Amruta Anuraga for its graceful blend of love, nature, and human emotions, while Aparajita was praised for its compelling portrayal of rural life, social struggles, and the indomitable spirit of women. During the ceremony, renowned musicians Nandalal Barik and Muralidhar Patel were felicitated for their contributions to the field of music. Poet Kailash Bag delivered the welcome address, and teacher Gouranga Sahu of Raja AT High School efficiently conducted the proceedings. Addressing the gathering, author Upendra Panigrahi shared his literary journey and reflected on the inspiration behind his writings. Among those present were retired Income Tax Commissioner Srikanta Chatterjee, Lokadrusti Director Abani Mohan, retired professors Dr. Arun Pradhan, Dr. Sarat Chandra Chalan, retired ABEO Kshemaraj Mahapatra, poets Kharat Chandra Barik and Chaturbhuja Sindeo, Tilottama Panigrahi, Aditya Narayan Panda, Abakash Panda, Prabhasini Joshi, Samjukta Panda, Yogeswari Barik, Gobinda Panda, and several other distinguished literary personalities and enthusiasts. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Chaturbhuja Sindeo, marking the event as a memorable celebration of literature and creative expression.
