Crackdown on Plastic Waste: Nuapada Hotel Fined ₹10,000 for Environmental Violations
Nuapada, June 27 In a decisive step towards strengthening environmental protection and enforcing Plastic Waste Management norms, the Nuapada district administration conducted a surprise inspection at a hotel near Gotma Chhak under Nuapada Block on Friday, imposing a fine of ₹10,000 for improper disposal of plastic waste. During the inspection, officials found more than one quintal of plastic waste dumped in an open area adjacent to the hotel premises. The hotel owner, Bijay Kumar Sahu, was penalized for violating the Plastic Waste Management Rules, reinforcing the administration’s zero-tolerance approach towards environmental violations. Officials stated that, in accordance with the directives of the Supreme Court of India and the prevailing Plastic Waste Management Rules, strict action will continue against violators.
