Media Repeatedly Sounded the Alarm, Yet the Administration Remains Asleep!
Dangerous Boundary Wall of BEO Office Poses Serious Threat; Schools Reopen, But Safety Still Ignored Will the administration wake up only after a tragedy occurs? Or will it act only after an innocent schoolchild becomes a victim? These are the questions now echoing across Sinapali as authorities continue to ignore a potentially life-threatening situation. Despite repeated reports and warnings by several media outlets regarding the dangerously damaged boundary wall of the Block Education Officer (BEO) Office in Sinapali, no visible action has been taken by the administration. The continued inaction has sparked widespread concern and public outrage. With schools having reopened, hundreds of people, including students of PM SHRI High School, Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, and Rising Sun Public School, pass through this road every day. The area becomes especially crowded during school opening and closing hours. If the weakened boundary wall collapses unexpectedly, it could result in a major tragedy. A visit to the site clearly reveals the seriousness of the situation. Large cracks have developed on both sides of the main entrance wall. On one side, the pressure from the roots of a massive tree has severely weakened the structure, while the other side has developed long, deep cracks, leaving the wall on the verge of collapse. Accumulated garbage and prolonged neglect have only worsened the condition. What makes the situation even more surprising is that the BEO office is located barely 200 metres from the official residence of the Block Development Officer (BDO). Yet, despite being so close, the dangerous condition of the wall appears to have escaped the attention of the administration, raising serious questions about official accountability. Parents say they live in constant fear while sending their children to school each day. They worry that if the wall collapses on any student, the consequences would be irreversible and no compensation could ever replace a lost life. They have demanded that the administration immediately repair or reconstruct the boundary wall and ensure proper safety measures before disaster strikes. The question remains: How many more warnings must the media issue before the authorities respond? When will the administration and public representatives wake up to their responsibility? Preventing an accident is far more responsible than reacting after lives have already been lost. The time has come for the administration to break its silence and act without further delay. Public safety cannot be left to chance, and negligence today could become tomorrow’s tragedy.
