Maa Dwarashani Print Media Association Holds Meeting in Boden
Boden, June 16: A meeting of the Maa Dwarashani Print Media Association of Boden Block in Nuapada district was held under the chairmanship of its President, Tikeshwar Nag, to discuss the role of journalists in addressing public issues and strengthening responsible journalism. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Nag emphasized that the media plays a crucial role in highlighting both individual and community problems before the administration and helping ensure their resolution. He urged journalists to verify facts from all possible angles before publishing any news and stressed the importance of accuracy, responsibility, and ethical reporting. He called upon media personnel to collect and report news with dedication, sincerity, and a sense of sacrifice, while ensuring that news reports do not adversely affect an individual’s personal life or create negative impacts on society. He also advised journalists to focus on issues that often remain unnoticed by the administration and bring them to the attention of the concerned authorities for timely action. Mr. Nag further highlighted the importance of humility in professional life and expressed satisfaction over the active participation of association members in various government programmes and their efforts in disseminating information to the public. Among those present were committee member Sushanta Kumar Panigrahi, Sambad representatives Bhishma Dev Hensa and Dillip Kumar Panda, Prameya representative Bansidhar Nag, Dharitri representative Tikeshwar Nag, and Nirbhaya Suchana special correspondent Ramnath Panda, who shared their views on media responsibilities and public welfare. The meeting also resolved to meet BDO Chinmaya Sagar and discuss several pressing issues in the block relating to agriculture, education, healthcare, drinking water, sanitation, housing, and animal husbandry. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Vice-President Bhishma Dev Hensa.
